"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain

"Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living." -- Miriam Beard

"Two of the greatest gifts we can give our children are roots and wings." -- Hodding Carter

"I have found out that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them." -- Mark Twain

Our happiest moments as tourists always seem to come when we stumble upon one thing while in pursuit of something else." — Lawrence Block

"Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quiestest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey." — Pat Conroy

Hello everyone. A very big fan of Asia. Could easily pack in the western lifestyle and live there in a micro second. Keep going back to collect my heart but whenever I go back, I keep leaving more of it there. I will teach in Thailand one day. Excited about our endless ideas of where we would go next. Cambodia, laos and India are at the top of the list.

Hope to one day see Africa... Scotland and walk down any path that is a little less travelled then the next...

Happiness is there for those who choose it. Travel is there for those that choose it. What do you choose?

Hope you enjoy our blog. Please leave a comment!

Well, it is truly about time that we venture to the road again. This time the travel is with my best friend and husband. Mark and I are ready. We got some super cheap flights and we are pretty excited to just move. Over the last 14 months, we have stayed in Australia. Well together anyways and this time we are traveling with no children. Yes, it is true. NO children. What are we to do? With no routine, no schedule, no RESPONSIBILITY? Ha, I am sure we will think of something. Our little man is turning two and with Zoe turning 11 so it has been a hectic 14 months and we can truly say that we have recovered from our 4 country 6 week trip Dec 2011. So what is the schedule? What are ... read more

Hey Everyone, Just so everyone knows I am still alive. I thought I would send a quick note to say we are still travelling... We are still having a ball.. BUT travelling with kids in Asia means I have less time then I am used to. Ha. As I re read that. What a statement. Lmao. ; ) Ps only ONE manicure and NO massages in the last four weeks should give you an idea of how little of time, I have had to blog. ; ) AND not one book read.. maybe a chapter. Bought heaps though. Mark must get started on building me another bookshelf when we get back home. ; ) I have recieved a few messages and feel horrible because although I check in breifly on facebook, I am really fighting hard ... read more

Wow, time has flown and before we know it beautiful Leah arrives after a total travel time of over 24 hours. Flying from Canada she arrives looking stunning and totally calm as a pickle. This was her FIRST flight overseas and she had a stop over in China and a very lengthy stop over in Bangkok. She did this all on her and is a true testament to all those that yes, you can travel! After catching up briefly and waiting for her room to be ready.. we headed out for some dinner. Leah is like family to me and the little sister I never had. Although she was tired she was brave to head out with us so soon after arriving. I was so busy watching her reaction I almost stumbled upon the sidewalk several ... read more

Well, I usually do a blog the night before I left or within a day of my arrival but things are quite different this time around. I think this trip has come around so quick this time, it surprised me! Well, it was actually quite uneventful heading to the airport as Mark was dropping us off but not going… Not yet anyways. Check in was okay. Btw you need to show a return ticket to leave Brisbane.. did you know that? I did not. That is all on that subject. ; ) Strategic was okay.. but after flying Air Asia I felt a bit blah. Honestly, after you have flown with Air Asia you kind of feel let down with every airline after. It was not a bad experience but just prefer AA as their service ... read more

Lots of swimming, relaxing and just being is what has been happening. Oh and a bit of fun. I have been avoiding my computer. Lol. I am a blog or so behind but getting there.. So what were we up to? Um yes, that would be the second day. Well, we awoke at 5:30 am that is my usual wake up call but it was 8:30 am in Australia so that was a bit strange. Surely, we could not be adapting so easily.. This bit is not really important if you do not have a baby but I need a routine. Happy baby, happy Tammy! ; ) Off to breakfast. Now not sure how you guys are on holidays but no matter what you do work a crazy job, run a business or stay at home ... read more

Well, in 15 more sleeps... We set out on an adventure. :) The journey begins with family and a friend who might as well be family from Canada and then sets out to Cambodia to see one of the nine... wonders of the world, Angkor Wat in Seim Reap, Cambodia then onto Vietnam and finishing up in Bali. We have the passports, We have the research. We are however just getting over the fact that we will have a baby with us this time. There is something to be said about travelling with children, this will turn this blog into something different, but a good different. You will never see a Country the way you will with a child in tow. To understand more, you will need to read this blog soon. :) Mr. Kolton will ... read more

There is a reason why this blog is late. When it is that time again and we are getting ready to venture back home. Truth is everyone states how lucky we are and oh, we get to go on so many holidays ect.. Well, yes we are lucky. We are healthy and fortunate enough to make it a priority to see our friends and family every two years. BUT let me tell you, it is not a holiday.. by any means!! Oh yes, it is in cost... and jet lag but by the end of our time there, we need a holiday!! Something you can't really understand, unless you are in a similar situation. A great deal of stress and planning, running around and just missing home *Australia* is what happens pretty much after the first ... read more

Hey everyone!! Guess you have been waiting for a blog for sometime now hey? I really thought I would have all this spare time but truth is any spare time I get, I run from the computer. : ) Things have been good, hectic and crazy. Life is unpredictable and this holiday has been a testament to that. The one thing that has stayed consistent is the fact that my mom is finally following me home. I am so excited. Elated in fact, that after 8 long years she will see where we live and the beautiful country we call home. It will make sense all I have been rambling on about the last 8 years. I must say there has been a delay in this blog, as we have tried to relax, enjoy blah, blah, ... read more
