Secondly I wanted to see the flamingo on Lake Nakuru and finally anything else was a bonus. I booked the holiday for both of us on the internet and it turned out really well. The weather was similar to England at this time of year. For a detailed summary of our holiday please refer to Tamsin's blog entries http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Kenya/Nairobi-Province/Nairobi/blog-171644.html Sunny Suffolk Just because we have had such lovely sunny weather I wanted to put these photos of Little Blakenham Woodland Garden on the blog. Went there on Sunday. No giraffes or hippos just badgers. Double click on images to enlarge. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Suffolk/blog-151919.html Mummy's Day Costa Rica blog is on its way but AOL broadband not working at present so would be very slow to upload lots of photos. Here is a short pictorial thank you to Tamsin for my Mother's Day pressie. Of course I had to choke back the tears. I love it thank you very much indeed.Going to the theatre with Neil when he is back from skiing when he gets there. Eurostar cancelled so going via Luton airport http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Suffolk/blog-139221.html Boxing Day at Neil's Neil invited us to his new flat which is just off Tower Bridge Road in Bermondsey. He is sharing it with a friend from university Ray and it is a spacious 2 bedroomed third floor apartment. Much amusement was had by the football game Leigh had bought Neil for Christmas. It was like the teletubbies playing soccer. NB He has bought Iris a remote controlled helicopterHappy New Year to everyone. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/blog-114005.html Christmas Christmas weekend started with a visit to see Ipswich play at home against Stoke coincidence as Tamsin was at Keele. I made it as far as the lunch very convivial. Ipswich went on to lose one nil but I managed to do some last minute Christmas shopping. As far as Christmas is concerned I think the pictures speak for themselves. We missed you Tamsin but know you are having a lovely time so it ma http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Suffolk/blog-113477.html To all our readers Merry Christmas http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Suffolk/blog-112742.html Preparations for Christmas To show Tamsin that life is carrying on without her on the lead up to Christmas I am adding this blog with photos to show her it is chilly here and we are nearly ready for Christmas. It is tuesday morning and Paul flew out today to join Tamsin in Sydney for Christmas. At home it is rather sad to have no children here for Christmas but life must go on so this is our frosty tuesday morning for you t http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Suffolk/blog-112209.html Family Wedding Have been rather a long time adding this blog. Started visiting relations in the wst. Quite cold there. Had good time with them seeing daily life and doing some special things together. Spent four days there then took an internal flight to New York where I met up with Leigh who arrived the day before. We visited a sculpture park on the site of the old agricultural fair ground in New Jersey on the http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/New-York/blog-106537.html Tonga Blog especially for Tamsin As you are far more interested in news of what the animals are doing rather than the bipeds here is the first blog from your four footed friends. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Suffolk/blog-90191.html Ladies in Italy This is the 5th trip I have done with Denise and friends. Starting the year of her 50th birthday we have been to Spain three times Portugal once and now Tuscany. It was a James Villas holiday with two hire cars. The Ryannair flight to Pisa was very quick and efficient the Hertz rental less so as they were servicing half the flight and the queue was round the airport. Luckily we were fourth in t http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Tuscany/blog-88009.html Primary Club Cricket As the weather has become so miserable the last few days with thundery showers it was touch and go whether this match was on. We got a phone call at 11 o'clock that it was and so did the two and a half hour drive. Well Leigh did most of the driving. He had a good day at Bently Car Club Meeting at Silverstone yesterday and drove his car and another one in two races. I didn't go spent time at home http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Hampshire/Fareham/blog-83279.html Byebye Tamsin The goodbyes seemed to be coming as long as the trip We started on Monday staying goodbye to Ruth and Paul at the Constable Exhibition very appropriate as mainly Suffolk then going out for a meal with Gwen. Ian and Pam Neil. boyfriend Paul Leigh and I and of course Tamsin. We then went on to see the Blue Man Group at the theatre where Leigh and I saw Cats years ago. The performance almost def http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/London-City/blog-82575.html Grasmere 2006 Returned from a week in the Lake District at Dale End Farm again with extended family on Leigh's side. Stanley and Nina and Sallie and Avi didn't come because of personal reasons and the troubles in Israel with Lebanon. Dale End residents consisted of Leigh and me Judy and new partner Brian Leslie Varda and Doron who hosted this year Judy's son Ian and girlfriend Clare other son Alan and Dori http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Cumbria/Lake-District/blog-81804.html National Trust Visits Last Wednesday went for four days to Wiltshire primarily to visit Tyntesfield the recently acquired NT property which is still being catalogued and brought up to standard plus going to buy some big terracotta rhubarb forcers from a pottery I found on the internet. Started with BB outside Bradford on Avon staying with an ex RAF chap who looked and moved like a moustached moorhen. He was actually http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Wiltshire/blog-79551.html Windmill Walk Well we made fifteen miles of this walk having started rather late due to Judy's fast driving but missing the turning a couple of times. Not too many cars in the leisure car park and nobody dressed up as a duck or windmill just a couple of nurse uniforms of the old variety. We were overtaken by a geriatric running club one member looked as if he wouldn't make it to the end of the road but I p http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/East-Sussex/Hastings/blog-77074.html
