| 28th August 2006 Beth | - From: Mukti Nepal - Week 3 Hi Nic, it has been great reading about your journey so far. Your adventures have already been great and the journey has just begun. While you are in these buddhist countries make sure that you find out more about their religion. I did this when I was travelling around Thailand and found it to be a very interesting religion (if that is possible!!). Their philosphies are very peaceful and predominantly it is about connecting with your spirtuality. Also, if you are interested the buddah statues have a multitude of positions and each position symbolises something. I also hope that when you were in Thailand you got the chance to taste the great Mekong Whisky (rocket fuel). If you didn't I think I had enough for both of us. I also managed to get a couple of bottles of the snake whisky from Laos and brought them back to Australia. I didn't try this though as I didn't like the idea of drinking something that had a cobra and scorpions floating in it. Will look great on the bar though!! Anyway, I hope your time at the orphanage goes well and you achieve what you set out to achieve. I am real proud of you. I hope that you manage to shake off your illnesses soon and are fit again to enjoy it. Before you leave there please find out if there is any way that we can make some stationary donations, etc to the orphanage once you are back in Australia. I wanted to take some stuff over to Thailand when I went but, unfortunately, it couldn't get to the places where I needed to drop the stuff off. It was disappointing as I really wanted to help out in some way and they wouldn't pick it up from me! Anyway, keep enjoying and keep smiling. If you get a little homesick just think of us and know that we are with you anyway. It is a big world out there and go and enjoy. Take care and bye for now. Beth |
