We were up early again today but it was traveling all day long today. We packed up our gear and checked out of the resort. We took a taxi, which was really a pickup truck, to the pier and they didn’t even charge us. We waited around for a while until the ferry came to take us to Chumporn. It took around an hour to get to Chumporn and we when did it was chaos trying to get our backpacks and get off the massive ferry onto a small pier made out of wooden sticks. We got assigned to a bus for the long drive into Bangkok, it was going to take at least 8 hours. While we waited for our bus to arrive we managed to get a table and order some lunch from the ... read more

We woke up really early today and got ready to head down to meet at reception for a big day of scuba diving. There were three of us doing the discover scuba diving course today, the other guy in our group was French and only spoke basic English so we had to wait around for them to find an instructor who spoke French. We sat in the resort restaurant and ordered some breakfast while we looked over some scuba driving notes and filled out some forms. Eventually they found us an instructor so got some gear and headed up to the practice pool. Firstly he showed us how to attach all the equipment and also how to easily put everything on. We moved over to the ledge where he showed us how to jump in the ... read more

We got up early and got ready to meet our bus transfer which would pick us up from the nearby school and take us to the ferry pier. We weren’t waiting long till it came and it took around 45 minutes to get there. As we waited for the ferry to arrive we bought some make do breakfast and some snacks for the day ahead. Soon enough the ferry arrived, we got on and were given goggles for snorkeling later on. It didn’t take very long to get to Koh Tao but as we approached we could see how amazing this place was. The water was a beautiful blue and you could easily see to the bottom as well as plenty of fish swimming around. We dropped some people off at the Koh Tao pier then ... read more

We woke up very early today to get ready for our trip to the next island, Koh Phangan. First we headed down for some breakfast, we ordered, then suddenly a guy came looking for us, the bus was here already, almost an hour early. We told him we weren’t ready and to come back in an hour so we could eat breakfast. So he left, we ate our breakfast, we packed our stuff and by this time he was out the front waiting for us. He took us to the pier where we waited for the ferry to come then waited for the passengers to get off. It took around 45 minutes to get to Koh Pha Ngan but on the way we had fantastic view of both islands as we waved goodbye to Koh Samui. ... read more

We got up and checked out of Montien House, said goodbye to Chaweng Beach and took the resort taxi to our next hotel in Bophut Beach. We arrived at this very small hotel which only had four rooms, and after checking in we were taken up to our room. It was a nice room with an amazing view of the beach and Koh Phangnan in the distance. We headed upstairs to check out the rooftop garden, nothing special besides another great view, we were saddened to see there was no swimming pool. We went down the street to get some lunch and ended up at a pub not too far from the hotel. The food was pretty average so we left and continued down the street to find out how we can get to Koh Phangnan ... read more

We woke up early today for a big day touring around Koh Samui. We got up around 7AM and already it was hot enough for a swim. We had some breakfast, which was pretty terrible and got picked up from reception just after 8AM. We had a bit of a drive picking up other people who were also doing the tour then we headed for our first stop. We arrived at a strange area with a statue of a giant happy Buddha, a statue of a woman with 14 arms and a few temples. Our tour guide introduced himself and told us to have a look around. We took some photos of the Buddha then took our shoes off and entered the impressive temple. The inside on the temple was beautifully painted in stories of the ... read more

Today we had to check-out, we packed up our stuff and reluctantly left Amari Resort, it had to be of the best places I’ve stayed at. We carried our backpacks down the main road to our next resort which was some way down the beach. This resort was much more in the centre of Chaweng Beach where the action is, where the last couple of nights we were staying at the end of the beach in a much quieter area. We arrived at Montien House and checked in, we booked a Beachfront room and that’s what we got. Our room was the closest to the pool and the pool was right on the beach, it was quite good. It was also the first time we’d have a chance to do some washing, we counted our clothes ... read more

We woke up and headed down to have some breakfast at the buffet in the restaurant. It was very good, they had a huge selection and cooked eggs just the way you wanted them. It was around 11AM when we went for a walk down the beach and already at that time it was so hot outside. We cut through Montien House to have a look because we were staying there for the next two nights, then continued down the main street to have a look around. I stopped to buy some DVD’s then we went and got some lunch at Burger King, it was just good to be in an air-conditioned room. We braved the heat again and headed back to our resort along the beach, dipping our feet in the water on the way ... read more

We woke up early today, packed our stuff and waited for the resort taxi to take us to Phuket airport for our flight to Koh Samui. We checked in, got some breakfast and soon enough boarded our flight. It was a short flight and by 10:30AM we were waiting for our luggage to arrive in Koh Samui. We squeezed into a shuttle bus with lots of other people and they took us to Amari Resort. This place was our only five star resort on this holiday, we thought we’d spoil ourselves since we didn’t really enjoy the previous resort. Already this resort was looking amazing, the pool was incredible and the beach was only meters away from the resort pool. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready yet so we sat in the bar and had ... read more

We woke up today and both felt quite ill. We wondered what had made us feel sick and realised we drank mocktails with ice in them, it must have been the ice. We planned to stay four nights here but today decided that we would leave tomorrow and catch a plane to Koh Samui. We spent most of the morning and early afternoon looking at hotels to stay in when we got to Koh Samui. We booked our flights and told reception we were leaving tomorrow then eventually settled on a resort called Amari. We finished up on the internet and went down to the beach to have a look around. It was a nice beach, better than the one in Patong Beach and there wasn’t nearly as many touts around. We walked around the markets ... read more
