We woke up really early this morning to get ready for another big day out. This time we were heading to the other side of Hong Kong Island to visit a theme park called 'Ocean Park'. We took the ferry across Victoria Harbor and jumped on a bus which took us directly to Ocean Park. It was an interesting drive, the roads here are all over the place, weaving in and out of buildings and tunnels. When we arrived though it was pretty quiet, we bought tickets and took the huge chair lift across the Island to the theme park. The chair lift was huge, it went for ages, but we didn't mind because the views were fantastic. Eventually we arrived at the main section of the theme park after a good 10-15 minutes on the ... read more

Today was our first full day in the massive city of Hong Kong. We woke up early and got ready for a big day out exploring the city. We left the hotel and headed straight to the ferry terminal and took the ferry to the other side of the city called Hong Kong Island. But since we hadn't eaten any breakfast we were both starving and a little grumpy. We wondered around the city for a bit looking around at the different skyscrapers then decided to go find some food. However we had alot of trouble finding somewhere decent we both wanted to go. We kept getting lost in all the indoor corridors and malls which all seemed to look similar. Finally we found a Starbucks, grabbed a table and stuffed ourselfs, we were so incredibly ... read more

We woke this morning and packed all our stuff, we were so happy to finally leave after what happened in the spa last night. We checked out and took the free shuttle bus back to the Ferry Terminal where we boarded a ferry to Hong Kong. It was a much cheaper option to have a visit to Macau and take a ferry to Hong Kong rather than fly directly into Hong Kong airport which was much more expensive. The ferry took a little over an hour and dropped us off at the main ferry terminal on Kowloon. On the map it seemed a short walk to our hotel but since we got a little lost it took a while longer. We were really excited about this hotel because it was extremely difficult to book rooms with ... read more

This morning we woke up got ready then headed down to the hotel restaurant for some breakfast. It was a huge buffet with all sorts of Asian foods, most of which Hannah and I wouldn't eat. We found some cereal and bread, ate breakfast then headed to reception to take the free shuttle bus to the Ferry Terminal on Macau Peninsula. We waited for a while but eventually the bus came and we were taken across to Central Macau. It was quite easy to get around in Macau because most of the casinos offered free bus shuttle to and from their casino to the Ferry Terminal. Once we arrived we jumped on the shuttle bus to 'The Sands' hotel and casino and had a quick look around inside. We went outside took some photos and walked ... read more

We woke up today and packed up our stuff ready to head down to reception and take a taxi to Bangkok airport. We arrived at the airport and checked in our luggage then went to a café upstairs and played cards while we waited for our flight to Macau. It was a short flight and we arrived at the tiny airport in the middle of the afternoon. After we cleared immigration we started to look for the best way to get to our hotel, the Grand Waldo on Tapai Island. To our pleasant surprise it was the closest hotel to the airport and was only a 5 minute drive. When we arrived we went straight to check in and after quite a wait at reception we finally were taken to our room. The room was fantastic, ... read more

We slept in a little today and got up in time for breakfast downstairs in the hotel restaurant. After spending some time at MBK yesterday, we didn’t really do much shopping, instead just looking around. But today we planned to head back there and do some serious shopping. When we arrived we decided to go have lunch first and headed across the road to Siam Paragon to find somewhere to eat. We ate lunch then returned to MBK and for the remainder of the day went shopping. We spent hours and hours searching around the massive shopping mall to find some good deals. I bought almost 100 DVD’s and a few clothes as well, while Hannah had her hair done and stocked up on makeup. As the shops started closing we headed up to the cinemas ... read more

We woke early and ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant then walked down the road towards the Grand Palace. We walked past a few temples and statues where we stopped to take photos but slowly made our way to the Grand Palace. We ended up passing the Grand Palace because the entrance was on the other side and instead went to Wat Pho to check out the famous reclining Buddha. But on the way we were stopped by this guy who seemed friendly, he told us the Grand Palace was closed and opening later this afternoon because it was Buddha Day in Bangkok today. He suggested that we instead go see these other temples and on the way check out this ‘great’ shopping area he knew of. He also said he can get us a tuk-tuk, ... read more

We were up early again today but it was traveling all day long today. We packed up our gear and checked out of the resort. We took a taxi, which was really a pickup truck, to the pier and they didn’t even charge us. We waited around for a while until the ferry came to take us to Chumporn. It took around an hour to get to Chumporn and we when did it was chaos trying to get our backpacks and get off the massive ferry onto a small pier made out of wooden sticks. We got assigned to a bus for the long drive into Bangkok, it was going to take at least 8 hours. While we waited for our bus to arrive we managed to get a table and order some lunch from the ... read more

We woke up really early today and got ready to head down to meet at reception for a big day of scuba diving. There were three of us doing the discover scuba diving course today, the other guy in our group was French and only spoke basic English so we had to wait around for them to find an instructor who spoke French. We sat in the resort restaurant and ordered some breakfast while we looked over some scuba driving notes and filled out some forms. Eventually they found us an instructor so got some gear and headed up to the practice pool. Firstly he showed us how to attach all the equipment and also how to easily put everything on. We moved over to the ledge where he showed us how to jump in the ... read more

We got up early and got ready to meet our bus transfer which would pick us up from the nearby school and take us to the ferry pier. We weren’t waiting long till it came and it took around 45 minutes to get there. As we waited for the ferry to arrive we bought some make do breakfast and some snacks for the day ahead. Soon enough the ferry arrived, we got on and were given goggles for snorkeling later on. It didn’t take very long to get to Koh Tao but as we approached we could see how amazing this place was. The water was a beautiful blue and you could easily see to the bottom as well as plenty of fish swimming around. We dropped some people off at the Koh Tao pier then ... read more
