My transportation to 西宁 is one of the most expensive one - soft sleeper. Luxury but not by choice! I was planning to bus to the train station, but was running late because I have go and grab a cross stitch, a new thing that is going to make the long journey more bearable. There is traffic everywhere in the city due to the subway construction. There is a saying that 来了成都不想走。 I was joking with the taxi driver that 想走也走不了，堵住了。 = PMy roommate for the ride is a guy who play drum in a band, a son and his father. After few days in HK, I hopped on the train to ShangHai. I shared a cabin with a graduate student from CUHK, a 18-years old boy who is going to China sole for the first time, a mother who is visiting her daughter in HK and a quiet uncle. We have a good time hang out with each other, the twenty something hours went by fairly quick. The auntie and the girl from CUHK were able to give me some great tips on where to go. When the train pulled into the station, it is time to say goodbye and go our separate way. I did not enjoy my time in Shanghai a bit. The two weeks I spent in the farm was one of the best time I have in my lift so far. First, the scenary of the farm is amazing, with snowy Yotai Mountain at the backdrop, ending green all around, dogs barking, chicken running, and quiet. Second, the work is so different from what I used to do in the office. Pure manual labor, not too much brain work. Third, great people, cute cats, delicious food and great conversations. Everyday is hard labor, but you will so satisfied and rewarded with great home cooked food.
