Hello all, Following our trip into Torres del Paine we jumped back across the border (yet again) into the land that we love - Argentina. The primary purpose of this trip was to visit Los Glaciers National parque and perhaps enjoy a cheeky final parrilla. The park itself has about thirteen glaciers and the one we decided to visit Perito Moreno Glacier. We didn´t really have our thinking caps on and opted for an "alternative tour" of the Glacier which they claimed included trekking through surrounding forests and said it was very imformative. What a joke!! The bus was full of [View Full Entry]

Open lands of Patagonia

Well, we ventured into the depths of the land and managed to survive with a tent, camping stove and bags of pasta for five days! Needless to say we are feeling extremely chuffed with ourselves. So much so we thought it only right to reward our hardy efforts with one final parrilla in Argentina - damn tasty too! Can´t say too much at the mo as someone else in our hostel is waiting to use the net and we have a strict 30 minute time policy going on here. They say a picture speaks a thousand words so enjoy the pics [View Full Entry]

Volcanoes South America » Chile » Los Lagos » Puerto Varas
Hola Amigos, Since the last update we have been to a good number of the towns in the Chilean Lakes district. We arrived in Puerto Varas to climb Osorno Volcano only to be looked at in a very strange way and be told that only very experienced climbers can attempt such an ascent. Though I was up for the challenge it seemed like the best thing to do was a brief Mountain Bike trip, and then take the next bus to Pucon to Climb the very active Volcano Villarica (not so technical). Our ascent started at five A.M. in order to [View Full Entry]

Hello amigos, After Buenos Aires, it was time to depart (with Hangover) on a 22 hour Bus trip (thankfully not cochroach infested) to San Martin de los Andes. This was the first step towards our goal of reaching Torres del Paine at the foot of Patagonia. It was also a chance for Lauren to brush up on her Mountain Biking and Snowboarding skills and for both of us to go on Detox. The town itself is very quaint and has a great alpine feel about it. It was a such a bonus when we realised we could mountain bike one day [View Full Entry]

Hello Folks, Sorry its been such a long time since we have updated the Blog, but well, we were just having such a good time in Buenos Aires and San Martin de Los Andes. We are currently in Bariloche in the Argentinian Lake district about to take the plunge further south towards chile and Torres Del Paine. Buenos Aires was fantastic and for us it was a welcome step back into normality after what was a really enjoyable period of time in Bolivia. Last time we updated the Blog we were about to start the second leg of our journey to [View Full Entry]

Hello Everyone Again, We just arrived in Buenos Aires after a nightmare mammoth 48 Hour Bus Journey. Long Story but it involved No leg room, crazy bolivians, queuing up with refugees at border control and cochroch infestations on the Bus....oh yeah, we got conned out of 100 Dollars too. But we are safe in BA and have to say it seems pretty cool so far! We completed a four day trip into the bolivian amazon and we both agree it was the highlight of the trip thus far! The journey started by taking a short 45 minute flight from la paz [View Full Entry]

Hello Everyone, Well its probably a decent time of the day for you all but for us its 7 am here. Reason I'm up so early is that I' ve caught myself a stinker of a cold. We are currently in La Paz, Bolivia, alive and well and really enjoying this place. We had planned to head North West for Maddidi national Park/Amazon but because of all the craziness which is going on in Santa Cruz regarding a referendum which is to be held on a new constitution, it is not safe for us as tourists. So instead we are planning [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone, No real news since the last e-mail. We Went white water rafting today and Lauren got a bit shook up when the Boat up ended on some level 4 rapids. Even the Guide looked a little shook up after the whole event. Anyhow no one was hurt and we had alot of fun at the end of the day.
