Hello Everyone, We are currently in Wanaka, New Zealand, Following what was a terrific trek along the Milford Track. We were very fortunate to have been able to book our place on the Trek when we did, which was in the Airport in Auckland when we first arrived. Well all wee can say is that we now know why its so hard to get a place on a walk which often referred to as one of the finest in the World. [View Full Entry]

Hello All, Just a quick post to let you all see the wonderful activity I got up to in the Worlds capital of Extreme Sports, Queenstown. Its a pretty cool town with lots of totally knarly 360 dudes running about on skateboards and bikes. Its also the birthplace of the now worldly activity of Bungy jumping. Well, obviously it is the first thing I thought of doing when I first arrived, and I dont mean the 43m freefall jump, I wanted to take on the Big Boy, the 134m freefall at the Nevis Highwire....However, I dont use this excuse much these [View Full Entry]

Hello All! We arrived safely in New Zealand on Wednesday (5th November). Bit jetlegged which was quiet funny beacuse it made us really disorientated. We got our laundry washed in the hostel that night and when the man came back to our room to drop it off we were having a wee snooze and the man must have been knocking for a while. Conor eventually heard him and said, hola! Hola! si, uno momento! Then he said muchas gracias when he collected our clothes. Switching continents in one day is very confusing! All going well so far. We had a lovely [View Full Entry]

After taking the ferry over to the south island our first port of call was the Abel Tasman national park. The park has a beautiful inland track but is mainly popular for it's gorgeous coastline made up of lots of coves, cliffs, rainforest, pristine beaches and turquoise blue waters. To experience the best of both worlds we opted for a two day trip through the park. The first day we trekked unguided through the rainforest and along the beaches until we reached Bark Bay. We stayed the night in a hut on the beach and then spent day two kayaking with [View Full Entry]

Here are a few pics of our day out swimming with a group of 400 Dusky dolphins in Kaikoura. These dolphins are wild and not trained in any way to come over to you so it is best to entertain them! As they communicate using sound waves our guide advised us to sing to them. I randomly chose slide away by Oasis which the dolphins seemed to love (hey, at least someone enjoys my singing voice!). After about a minute there were about eight dolphins underneath me and circling all around me! They are very playful and placcid creatures who appeared [View Full Entry]

A few snaps from our 6 hour trek this morning at Mount Cook, Australasia's highest peak at approx 3750 Metres. Leaving our shelter at 6am we managed to beat the crowds and catch the sunrising. Stunning! The Mountain itself is seriously impressive making it no surprise that it was a playground for Sir Edmund Hilary before he became the first man to conquer Everest. [View Full Entry]
