Day 225 - Friday 2 May As I've seen pretty much everything there is to see on the Argentinian side of the border Im going to cross over to the brazilian side. According to the Lonely Planet its a lot more lively. Its only a 30 minute bus ride from Puerto Iguazu on the Argentianian side to Foz de Iguacu on the Brazilain side and by lunchtime I'd arrived. I dropped my bags off at the hostel and went out to get lunch and have a look around the town centre. To be honest its just like any other poor run [View Full Entry]

Day 222 - Tuesday 29 April My bus arrived in Puerto Iguazu early afternoon and even though its only a small town, I´ve decided to pay an extra 50p and stay somewhere close to the bus station thats had good reviews. After BA I don't want to do myself over agin just to save 50p a day. With it only being half an hour to kick off in the Man Utd v Barcelona champions league semi-final I quickly rushed out to find somewhere showing it. It actually turned out quite difficult as its only a small town and most of the [View Full Entry]

Day 209 - Wednesday 16 April I had to be up at 5 am and some noisy idiots had been drinking outside my room until 2 o´clock so i´d only managed 2 hours sleep. Oh well I´ve got lots of time to sleep on the bus I suppose. Not much else to say really, watched a few films, some in English with Spanish subtitles so I could understand them, some in Spanish so I didn´t have a clue but watched them anyway. Looked out the window at the desert and scrubland, read a bit of my book and thats it. Day [View Full Entry]

Day 207 - Monday 14 April It was another early start and at 8am the bus set off for Ushuai. Even though Ushuais in Argentina the only way to get there by bus is to first pass through Chile, so I had to get on/off the bus a couple of times whilst I collected some more stamps in my passport. Apart from that it was pretty univentful until we reached about 30 mins outside Ushuai. The scenary was fabulous, snow covered mountains everywhere. It was certainly worth the drive down. I´ve never got the wanting to live in the countryside thing, [View Full Entry]

Day 206 - Sunday 13 April Having only had 4 hours sleep I had to get up as it was time to check out. I then proceeded to the bus station where I had a bus taking me to Rio Gallegos. I'm travelling to Ushuai the most southern city in the world but the bus leaves El Chalten at 4 in the morning. Rather than have a night of interupted sleep i'm going to spend the night in Rio Gallegos 4 hours away, then get the morning bus there to Ushuai. Not much happened on the bus journey and I arrived [View Full Entry]

Day 202 - Wednesday 9 April The heater on the bus last night hadn't worked and it had been absolutely freezing. I'd had to double drop on the valium. Sat on a bus all day theres not much to report. Passed some nice scenery and had a couple of hour stop in some desolate town in the middle of nowhere where everything was all shut up for the siesta, and thats about it. Just after midnight the bus briefly stopped at El Chalten. Its supposed to be really nice with loads of walks you can do in the national parks but [View Full Entry]

Day 199 - Sunday 6 April Got up early yet again (I can´t wait for a lie in) and bought my bus ticket to Osorno. It was an uneventful 4 hour drive except for when the bus pulled into a small bus station at some town along the way. I saw a dog shagging another dog when suddenly another dog walked over and started shagging the dog shagging the dog (hope that makes sense). I suppose a doggy threesome but one of the dogs (if not all) must have been gay. Once in Orsorno we managed to catch a bus that [View Full Entry]

Day 197 - Friday 4 April The bus pulled into Pucon about 8 in the morning and apart from the stray dogs you get in every south american town, the place was deserted. We´d already booked in somewhere so set off to find it. Suddenly a car pulled up and asked us if we were going to the hostel we´ve booked into. It was the owner and she´d come to give us a free lift. Rather decent of her. After checking in I left Russ and Pa to go and have a walk around town whilst I had a shower and [View Full Entry]

Day 195 - Wednesday 2 April Vina del Mar is only 15 mins away from Valparaiso but by the time we´d got up packed, had breakfast got there and found somewhere to stay it was already lunchtime. Theres a good beach here but unfortunately its cloudy, the first time its been cloudy since I arrived in Chile. Typical. However as the Arsenal v Liverpool champions league game was starting soon I wasn´t that bothered. Russ however had to miss it and go looking around the shops instead. Oh dear oh dear. He finally returned when the game was in injury time [View Full Entry]

Day 193 - Monday 31 March After waking up getting breakfast and spending a bit of time on the internet we headed over to the bus station so we could get the bus down to valparaiso. The journey took about 8 hours and on the way i noticed that Chileans seem quite keen on fitness. There were loads of gyms and they were all packed, maybe thats why theres hardly any fatties even though they eat tonnes of burgers. We finally arrived about half eight in the evening so as it was starting to get late we were quite glad that [View Full Entry]
