Great job
The best part of your line of work is that you learning about other cultures I believe that all cultures ask the same basic questions about life but their cultures just answer them is different ways

Unfortunately I will not be near Angkor Wat - as it is actually in Cambodia. Though, I would very much like to visit it as well someday. There are many little (and big) Buddhas everywhere, so I'm bound to pick up a few before I leave. Hope you are well!

Wonderful Pictures/Still Summer There
Jenny, It still looks like summer there - as it turns to cooler weather here and the leaves are starting to turn. Glad you can get out to places over the weekend. I am looking forward to more pictures - especially from Vietnam and Thailand. Hope you are getting in some water time - snorkling, scuba, maybe learn to surf board? Are you going to any other island? Enjoy! Love you, Mom

good question
Well, from what I've been told about them it seems to be an area at random that will contain all layers of occupation. It's not based on what they will or won't destroy - as that is inevitable. These are usually for very large sites, where it is a very small percentage of the entire site. On these mounds it is easy to do it on the edges where it is already eroding.

how do they choose?
Jen how do they pick where to do this deep sounding - is it on the edge where they think there is little possibility of disturbing anything important?

Yes, I will get you both one. I haven't seen many necklaces, but I did get one last year with it - though it is uncomfortable to wear because it is cheap. I will try to find you a good one, and Aunt Elena a hanging pendant!

First, Jenny, we certainly need and explanation as to why there would be a skeleton in that hole ... and secondly, this must be where the expressions about someone's tainted past comes from?
