Good day today, felt a lot better after a good nights sleep. We got a just a little adventurous today. Bought a travel card known as an Octopus card, saves messing about buying tickets. This got us onto the underground, which is just through the hell that is the shopping mall at Sha Tin. At this stage I have to say that, for a Sunday, just a walk through the Mall was a battle royal. I'll add this before I forget. Made sure my dear wife and family are okay. It made me feel better to call them, tell them I got here okay, and, well, you know the rest... Stayed in the hotel for dinner tonight, at the Chinese restaurant on site. Quality, absolute quality! We had roast belly pork, sitr fry veg with the biggest prawns(in garlic) you have ever seen, deep fried squid, braised duck with the Chinese equivalent of Tofu, Spicy beef. Okay, here goes. We've been here about 4 hours now, and I'm knackered! Haven't slept really since getting up at 6am Friday to start this epic journey. Journey over was quite good, but it is so very very long. 1 hour to Amsterdam, then 11 to Hong Kong. A first for me was seeing the Gobi desert when we flew over it. I have decided to try and run a blog for my 4 week visit to Hong Kong and Shanghai, on business. If it all goes well, I'll continue it for my holiday of a lifetime trip down the west coast of the USA either side of visiting my cousins in Seattle and San Diego, but we'll see how it goes.
