- Thursday 29th March - Tuesday 2nd April 2007 After spending a couple of days in Vang Vieng it was time to move on back to Vientiane for a bus connection to the south of the country and ultimately to Cambodia. After returning to Vientiane and spending the day there, I caught the night bus to Pakse in southern Laos. This time I decided to catch a "VIP" bus instead of the local bus. Paying for a “VIP” bus means you get to your destination quicker and get a blanket and a small meal and bottle of water for the journey. [View Full Entry]

- Friday 23rd to Friday 30th March 2007 After an overnight train journey from Bangkok I arrived in Nong Khai, a small Thai border town on the Thai/ Laos border at around 5am in the morning hoping that the short journey into Laos would be quick and painless. However, arriving in some strange deserted town in the middle of the night with no one around, I should have known that getting across the border wouldn't be as straight forward as I would have hoped. First mistake, get in a tuk-tuk and ask to be taken to the border without knowing where [View Full Entry]

Monday 19th Thursday 22nd March 2007. Finally the long trip back to the UK begins and I flew out of Australia................. for good?......... time will tell! There had been a time not so long ago when I did wonder whether I could actually board the plane and leave. Right at the back of my mind, I had visions of getting to the airport and not being able to get on the plane. I've had such a fantastic time and met some fantastic people while in Australia, certainly over the last year, that I wondered whether I was doing the right thing. [View Full Entry]

Thursday 15th March - Monday 19th March 2007 So after nearly two years in Australia the final few days of my time here had finally arrived. After returning from the Whitsunday Islands on the evening of Thursday 15th March I had just three more days left in Australia. However, before leaving I still had lots of things to do, one of which included clearing up the flat (photo's attached of some of our beer collection going to the tip) and attending Rob's wedding on the Sunday, my very last full day in Australia. Friday was spent getting all my things together [View Full Entry]

March 2007 After nearly two years working in Australia for Connell Wagner, I finished work for the final time with them on Friday 9th March 2007. With still over a week to go until I flew out of Australia I decided to go for one last Australian holiday. One place where I had not been to on the east coast of Australia was to the Whitsunday Islands. Everyone says that the Whitsundays are so beautiful and that I should go before leaving. I'd considered going plenty of times before but as the main thing that everyone goes to the Whitsundays for [View Full Entry]
