Home sweet home - From: Yen, Baht and Another Plane
Thanks for the offer of a ride, but I'm home now and plan to stay in my house as much as possible for at least the next 24 hours. Looking forward to catching up! BTW, we all know you're a softie and really like puppies and babies and little Clouded leopard cubbies, so you're the only one in denial! :)

What an adventure!! - From: Unladylike in Leech Socks - An AMAZING Day of Wildlife!
We have been waiting for a message from Chris about you, Wendy. Then this morning I asked your Dad if he had checked the blog and he said "No". We had a lot of reading to do to catch up with you gals. We are so envious at all you are getting to do. Can't wait to hear more and see the pictures. Did you really eat bugs??? Love, Mom and Dad

Bug Eating and Fund Raising - From: Flat Tires and Crazy Teachers
Hi Brynn - I can't believe that there are no comments on your bug eating adventures. I think you have missed an opportunity to get your readers to pledge contributions to the causes you have identified based upon the number of spicy legged creatures consumed. I know that I, for one, would have bet a fair sum that you would not be willingly eating the creepy-crawly things that you were anxious about encountering before you left for your trip! Take care!

Tuk Tuk - From: The Spirit of the Tuk Tuk
I assume that Tuk Tuk is the bigger-than-life fellow with all the scale--or tiles? Bet he has some story to tell. Of course I am intrigued by the little houses. I hope they have a happy background..or future? Perhaps they are meant for use by the turtles? My number one granddaughter looks lovely..as do Wendy and Karen..

Thanks! - From: In Search of Delacour's Langurs in Van Long
Thanks for all of the time you are putting into these posts Brynn -- it really is fun to follow along. I think you may have a future in writing adventure pieces for NPR / Nat'l Geograpic -- I can almost hear the sounds in the background as I read your posts. Just in case you are getting bored with the mundane wildlife over there, I saw a couple deer today! :) Hope your travels went smoothly!

Water Puppets - From: In Search of Delacour's Langurs in Van Long
Angela, Glad you're enjoying it. We saw the Hanoi Water Puppet Theater last night and I thought of you. If they weren't so darn big and heavy, I'd bring one back for you. They're really cool looking - the puppeteers stand in the water behind a bamboo screen to move them around. Off to Bangkok in a couple of hours! Brynn

Dang, I can't believe you're leaving Hanoi already! I was just getting comfortable with the idea of you being there, getting all of us back in the States familiar with the area through your stories. Great details, btw. I'm keeping up with all your posts, and your stories and descriptions are fantastic.

Yummy! - From: Eating Eels in Hanoi
oh honey, you write with such energy and verve and fun! I am right there with you in that restaurant, sampling, enjoying, watching the four year old and wondering what the heck her little mind thinks and how fabulously it must blend all these quirky experiences into a sensible world. and they do. and we only wish we could lose ourselves and our grown up ways and just be There, in the moment, like that. I am so thrilled for you. write everything, experience everything, stretch yourself, this is an amazing time for you. much love, cousing Laurie (PS did I mention that I ate Balut in the Philipines, a sort of egg that hasn't been hatched yet but is basically mostly chicken in the shell, just because the locals wanted me to try it, and I wanted to be part of the moment....that maybe be the reason I am slightly addle brained at this time in my life, tee heee.... love you B

Brynn, I am so proud of you and all the good work you are doing for the zoo and for our little animal friends. Amazing journey over their in Viet Nam! I loved the description of the hospitality of the villagers who offered their best for you all. Good thing you're a vegetarian, eh? Have a great time in Thailand and I look forward to reading more. A fascinating peek into the city of Hanoi and it's citizens... You did not mention the weather.. I assume that it is warm..Your contacts are most interesting and I am sure you will learn much from them regarding the animals of their country. Already, I am sympathizing with the bears...and the demand for bile! How terrible. for the poor animals.

Good job! Being that many of us are having to travel vicariously through the (3) of you I will say I am impressed w/ your ability to navigate all that is foreign. Can't wait to hear about the encounters w/ the leaches & the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of the leach socks!

Brynn, Wish you the best on this adventure, will love to hear all about it. Hope you are taking every precaution. ‘It is a jungle out there.’ I have heard nothing but positive things from people who have visited Vietnam (that’s recently), however I think they stayed to the paved areas.

Hopefully one day I may see these cats at Point Defieance Zoo. My family made this zoo a focal point of many trips to Tacoma when I was a child. Animals have always been of interest to my family and continue to be. I am eagerly looking forward to the coming TravelBlogs. Many thanks for my inclusion on this list... Judy Pell

No Worries - From: Warm Weather, Here We Come!
Hi Brynn - I think you are selling yourself short here. There is nothing you will encounter there that even compares with spending a night at Doe Falls or Ranger Creek with a group of junior high campers! Enjoy every minute of it - I'm jealous already!!!
