Before I start I must apologise about the absence of pictures, I'm having slight technical issues with uploading them at current. Anyways on a lighter note, we had a wild time in Vang Vieng. It was basically what we expected, its Laos version of Malaga, a type of party destination. Our time in Vang Vieng was brief due to not being too much to do. But we did do the obvious and had a day of tubing. Thinking back to it, its pretty dangerous, being the mixture of river, drinking, and "other" substances, and then to make it worse, zip lines and [View Full Entry]

Hello All. Well we made it!!! We are in Laos, but what a journey. A word of advise to anyone travelling from Pai to Laos, even if the company tells you they dont go to Chaing Mai along the way they WILL. Wasnt the greatest of starts to a 3 days journey but we survived the curves. We turned up at an over night accomodation at around 3.5hrs sleep before we had to cross the border into Laos, the room was for free so as expected it didnt have windows and was FREEZING. Getting into the country was actually a [View Full Entry]

Hello readers. WOW how another week has just flown past, but what a week. What started out as a few days in Pai has turned out to be a good 6days. We just cant get enough of it here, if anyone does think about Thailand then Pai is a place that should be visited. The journey from Chaing Mai though is not one for the weak stomach. There are 724 bends in the road on the way here through the mountains....you have been warned! Pai is like the little sister of Chaing Mai, but better. Pai only stretched for about [View Full Entry]

Hello ALL!! Sorry for the delay in update but been busy enjoying myself and havent fancied sitting at the PC. Well we have made our way north to Chang Mai and I am amazed we got here in one peice. I suppose you get what you pay for, but our journey was horrible. It was supposed to be 12hrs but took us closer to 14 and a half. The AC wasnt working, the coach couldnt go over 50mph or it started shaking. When we got to the roads of Mai we wasnt even accellerating, we were actually just coasting down [View Full Entry]

Yesterday (Saturday) we decided to check out the Chaturak weekend market, which is just like 30mins out of central Bangkok. nce again the actual journey there was part of the excitment. We thought we would take a taxi rather then took took as it was quite hot and the a/c would of been nice. He literally was mental. They will say any price to get you in the taxi and then negotiate when the car is driving so you cant get out. Luckily enough Im a stubbon person and negotiated us to a happy price. When we got to the [View Full Entry]

Hello all!!! Well what an adventure. We thought we would wonder over to Kanchanaburi to see the sights it may have. So we booked a minibus too give us a tour. Well I say minibus it was more like a grand prix driver late for a race. I reckon there is no speed limit over here, and if there was, there definatley isnt any speed cameras. We did get some definate air from a couple of bumps in the road!! I found it great fun, not sure anyone else agreed though. Our first stop was the floating market. We got [View Full Entry]

Well we had to finally say good bye to the utter relaxation that was Koh Chang. We did get a good farewell with a half moon party the night before our departure, though this did mean only a couple hours of sleep and then a whole days worth of travelling. Wasnt feeling too clever!! A family of monkeys did wave us off, im sure we will meet again. Didnt think we would be saying this but it was kind of nice coming back to the big city!! We feel we have more of an understanding of how everything works now [View Full Entry]

This is going to be our last blog from Koh Chang, sad to say but there is sooooo much to see!! We are heading off tomorrow morning back to Bangkok, we are both praying that the bus surrvives this time. From Bangkok we have a vague idea of what we plan to do but you will hear/see that at a later date. The past couple of days, well actually since we have been here we have literally kicked up our feet. Yesterday we visited Bang Bao, which is south of the Island. A small fishing town, literally is the longest [View Full Entry]

This will most definately be the last blog for some time as I get the feeling we are moving on tommorrow. Had an interesting night to say the least, went for a nice meal with a few others at the next hut down got away with not paying for drinks some how!!! And Lace your right, buckets are the way forward. After a few buckets we headed to the tree house, which is renound for hippie laid back travellers. As you can imagine it was psychodelic, with vibrant colours, coushions everywhere, a bounch floor that was hanging over the sea [View Full Entry]

WHAT A NIGHTMARE...an early start for me and Kim so we would be at Koh San Road for 8am, we told the TukTuk driver to be as reckless as he wanted to get us there on time, and in all fairness we was there with time to spare. Even though we was told to be there early the coach was late, this seems to be the way with Thais, very laid back, but i can adjust to this. We finally got settled on our coach which look like it had been on pimp my ride but had a/c so was [View Full Entry]
