Hi, its us again and its been a while! We have been really busy and also either had no internet connection or just sunbathing so not worth reporting on! :-) You'll be pleased to know we were not affected by the tsunami but thanks for those of you to ask. Malaysia was ok and unaffected although I believe in the UK you were told we were. Anyway just a quick run down on what we have been doing and hopefully we will be able to have internet connection frequently from now on. Since our last blog we have been back to Singapore, where we met Nicole and experienced our first night in a shared room for 5 people! It was ok actually and we need to get used to it as I think we will be ... read more

March 9th 2011

We headed off today (Wed) to Tanjung Aru Beach and checked into Megah D'aru Hotel for the next 3 nights. This is a luxury for us as it has an iron (little things please us now and it only cost £12 per night each. More then usual but well worth it)! The next few days we are planning on just sunbathing and chilling out before we head back to Singapore for a night on Saturday and meet up with Nicole again. Well update you more then and let you know how our Singapore sling is!... read more

March 8th 2011

Stacey and I were up, ready and out the door for 7am (yes 7am on a Sat!) so we could get the wonderful 6hr bus journey at 8am. This was taking us to Sandakan and we were staying over night. We got there and freshened up and headed to the harbour and walked around a few shops and then had dinner. We managed to get throughout the evening, 2 noodle curry's, 2 drinks and 2 cakes (yum yum) all for under £5! We then headed back to the room (which was the worse we have had so far but would do) and got some much needed rest. We then met the gentleman who organised our trip and he took us to the jetty so we could get the 9:30am ferry to Turtle Island. When we got ... read more

Stacey and I decided to go to Chinatown on Thursday before our flight as unfortunately Nicole had to fly back home but she will be back when we return to Singapore so we shall all see the Marine Bay Sands and experience the views there and all also go to raffles for our Singapore sling! We only had a short period of time before our flight to Borneo so we went to the Buddha tooth temple and then walked around the markets in china town. Luckily we made it back to our hotel just in time for the heavens to open up and we experienced rain for the 1st time since leaving good old blighty. We then flew to Borneo and have stayed for 2 nights at the Borneo Gaya Lodge in KK. Its a very ... read more

March 2nd 2011

On Tuesday we went to Bangkok's Aquarium, which was really good. There was a shark part and we also went on a glass bottom boat to get a closer look at the sharks, sting rays and fish. We then headed to the Hard rock and had a bite to eat and bought a few things and then headed to a shopping centre for a wander. After that we got ready and headed to the roof top bar and gullivers Travels bar. Rolled in about half 1ish and then got up early for our flight to Singapore. We're now in Singapore and have only had a walk around the town. Tomorrow we are going to China town and the botanical gardens. When were back next week we are then heading to raffles for a singapore sling and ... read more

February 28th 2011

On Sunday we spent the whole day travelling. It started with getting up at 5:30am and then heading for taxi, getting the 8:00am ferry, waiting in the heat for 45 mins and then getting the 1:15pm coach. We then stayed on here until 09:30pm. By this time we wanted to crash out so we freshened up and then headed to Kho San Road for a small bite to eat, drinks and Nicole wanted to watch her beloved Birmingham beat Arsenal. Sorry Arsenal fans. Stacey and I spent Monday being true tourists and headed to Wat Pho and saw the the temple and reclining budda (that was after being harrassed by locals to feed the bloody pigeons!). We also had the amazing site of seeing the monks praying, you had to be there to take in the ... read more

While Nicole stayed at our apartment in Koh Tao, Stacey, Anna and I went on the day trip snorkelling on Thursday. We first of all went to Shark Island and I hesitantly got in the sea. For those of you that know me you will know that I do not do sharks!! Luckily for me there were none to be seen! Next stop was mango bay and we swam with lots of varieties of fish. We were hoping to see turtles but unlucky for us (this time) there were non to be seen too. We then headed to Koh Naang Yuan, which is a private island that you have to pay to go on. It was paradise. We decided to first of all climb the stairs to go to the view point and after about 300 ... read more

February 23rd 2011

We got to Koh Tao yesterday (Tues) after spending most of the day travelling and that was enough for me with the backpack so have bought a soft version of a case with wheels, you know me, cant do anything too hard core! Plus I have 2 cases ready for the final shop in LA! We spent yesterday walking around getting to know the area and went to Sairee Beach for a bite to eat and a few drinks, although it ended up with shots and cocktails and we rolled in about 3ish. We are staying at Mae Haad Bay which is only a 10 minute walk and with Stacey's trusty torch we were pros walking along the dirt tracks :-) We went to a bar called the Lotus Bar and there was a fire show ... read more
