Oh my gosh, these past few days have been crazy! Iīve been jumping on a different bus, heading to a different city and country every day, constantly changing hotels (some pretty modest hotels, and thatīs putting it gently). So, as some of you know, Iīm spending about 2 months in Central America this winter. Iīm starting my journey off in El Salvador, then Honduras, Nicaragua, back to Honduras to study Spanish, then to Belize for work. El Salvador So I arrived Jan 2nd, in San Salvador. I must say, itīs much more developed than I thought it would be! Many c [View Full Entry]

Nothing like spending New Year's in New York....besides it being overly crowded. I've never been during the holidays so it was quite a treat! My friend, Adrian, & I arrived in NYC the day after Christmas. By the way, I spent over 6 hours in Atlanta on a layover due to so many travelers & bad weather. Nevertheless I made it. I took an expenisve cab to my best friend's apartment in Brooklyn. She moved up here a several months ago & is teaching first grade & getting her masters. She lives in a nice area in Brooklyn called Bay Ridge. [View Full Entry]

Although domestic trips may not seem as exciting as international travel, I have to tell you, I'm discovering beautiful places a little closer to home. Travelling to different states, coasts & timezones, I might as well be travelling abroad. I am realizing how dramatically unique each state is. I feel like I've taken for granted all these years of living in the states & not seeing it's beauty. While I was abroad I always wondered why so many people wanted to come to the states, to live or just to visit. I thought the states seemed so ordinary & boring. But [View Full Entry]

World Travels This is long over due. I have been back in the states for several months now. I've been able to tell some of you what it was like travelling the world for a year & a half. Of course, words, pictures & stories do not do justice. Some of you have no idea what I was doing overseas. Hopefully, this will give you a glimpse of the countries I saw, the people I met, the job I did, the memories I made, the experiences I encountered. I've briefly described each country I went to & have included pictures. [View Full Entry]

My goodness, what can I say about Armenia village? It's in the mountains surrounded by green & palm trees. The church we're working with is nestled on top of a hill & the view from the church is spectacular. You can truly see God's beautiful creation in Armenia. It's a spanish speaking, very poor village so it's been a challenge for our group to communicate w/ all the people, but we're all managing. Yesterday we went to the Belmopan orphanage....52 kids crammed in to a small building. There was an article written about Praying Pelican Missions (the organization I work for) [View Full Entry]

These last few weeks have been amazing! We had a group of over 120 people from Houston (of course everything is bigger & better from Texas!). They had a fun mission trip in Belmopan (Belize's capital, the smallest capital in the world). Then I took 1 week off & went to Guatamala, loved it! Spent a couple days in Placencia, Belize where I went scuba diving at Laughing Bird Caye & went zip-lining. Belize is famous for it's scuba diving & now I see why! Lots of colorful fish & coral. Then last week we had a group from South Carolina [View Full Entry]

Guatamala is PERFECTO! Been able to practice my espanol. Flores is an amazing island town, with cobble-stone streets & these little tiny go-cart type cars, really good food, & very friendly people. Went to Tikal, the largest Mayan Ruins in meso America, breath-taking. I really needed this rest, gotta get ready for 1 month of mission trips. [View Full Entry]

Back for the 2nd time in Belize. It's been great, reuniting with the staff. I've only known them a short time but it already feels like they are life-long friends. We've been setting up the past couple of days for the trip coming in today. There are 126 people coming from Houston. It's gonna be crazy & amazing! We'll be staying in Belmopan, the nation's capital, with only 2 restaurants! Beans & rice, here we come! So...the trip was awesome! Very different from our other trips, but still great! We did mostly logistics...not much "leading." They had plenty of their own [View Full Entry]

So I spent the past 3 weeks doing mission trips to Belize. We went to Belize City, Crooked Tree & Orange Walk. We several different ministries with the locals from Belize. Everyday spent in Belize continues to amaze me. The color, natural beauty of the country & people are breathtaking. It's the poorest country I've been to, yet the people are so generous & loving. I had the opportunity to go snorkeling in Caye Caulker & go to different Mayan Ruins locations. But the highlight is getting to know the locals & how they live. [View Full Entry]
