On the Ground in Gent Well, I finally made it to Belgium. I honestly thought I'd never actually get here. I left Little Rock, Arkansas at about 11:00 AM on Thursday January 4, flew to Atlanta where I had about a three hour layover, met up with Caroline at the airport, then left U.S. soil at about 6:00 PM. The flight was rather uneventful. I had whiskey on the rocks to celebrate my departure (Crown Royal because they didn't have any decent bourbon), and settled in for the 8 hour flight. Well, I haven't left yet...still a little over two weeks to go. Christmas is in five days, and I still can't relax. Trying to prep for Christmas, New Year's, and a 6 month trip to Belgium is a little unnerving, especially when I only have about two weeks to get it all done. In fact, I probably shouldn't be messing with this blog right now. My flight to Brussels leaves on January 5th. I'll have a layover in Atlanta, and arrive in Belgium on the morning of January 6.
