Yesterday, the island received news that the "dog hunters" were here. To start off there are many stray dogs around the island and some cause grief here, as they are known as the "jungle dogs". But some have become the house dogs of some chalets and businesses around here. There is at Nazri Nipah, Kumba, Fifi and her little brother. The cutests dogs you've ever seen. Just happy little things that follow you around. The staff at Nazri's were determined that Kumba and Fifi's brother were not gonna get shot by the hunters. Well I'm still here on Palau Pangkor... stuck really. I was supposed to leave last Friday and what...? We're Tuesday I think? And still I keep telling myself "tomorrow". There really is not much to do on this island. It's so laidback, adn the locals are amazing. I can say that I've done absolutely nothing since being here. Got to Pulau Pangkor late yesterday afternoon. After a very short 4hr bus ride to Lumut I took to ferry to the island (20 mins). Staying a Nahzri Nimah Chalets. A nice little "A" frame hut down a road a few meters away from the beach. Really nice cozy atmosphere with friendly staff and nice guests. Pretty much laze around all day doing nothing but that's ok, that's what I'm here for. So yeah, now that I've got a icket out of KL to head to Lumut (which I bought last night), I wake up this morning in agony! Ok sorry for the details, but you asked for them. In Goa about a week or so ago, I started this weird rash liek thing on the back of one of my legs, No biggie just small spots and not really itchy at all. Got back to Malaysia yesterday afternoon at around 1pm. I'm still staying around CHina Town in a different hostel. I swear, being in this country is like being on constant PMS...LOL The reason why I say this is because one day you love it and the other you just can't take it anymore. Nothing too harsh, but the mixed emotions this place gives you. Don't get me wrong, I think I love this country because of it's culture and differences and adventures, but it just really gets to you. Ok, so after spending so much time on the beach where it's quiet and just lazing around...I can't take big hectic cities anymore! I took the train from Canacona to Mumbai last night and arrived early this morning (6:30 am). I think I just got so used to the buses here that I really truly did not enjoy the train all that much. I was on the upperberth (really high up there) in 2nd class sleeper, no a/c, on a pleather cot with screaming babies all night long.. yeah well no sleep for me. So last night I decided to go for a beer at Cafe Cuba on the beach.... Felt I deserved it for doing nothing really LOL, ended up staying there 'til about 11pm. Met a guy named Xavier from MTL. It kinda gave it away that he was Canadian because of his Canada Post shirt... He's been living and working here since December I believe.. I think I went to bed around 12am.
