Yesterday, the island received news that the "dog hunters" were here. To start off there are many stray dogs around the island and some cause grief here, as they are known as the "jungle dogs". But some have become the house dogs of some chalets and businesses around here. There is at Nazri Nipah, Kumba, Fifi and her little brother. The cutests dogs you've ever seen. Just happy little things that follow you around. The staff at Nazri's were determined that Kumba and Fifi's brother were not gonna get shot by the hunters. Everyone kept a good eye on them yesterday [View Full Entry]

Well I'm still here on Palau Pangkor... stuck really. I was supposed to leave last Friday and what...? We're Tuesday I think? And still I keep telling myself "tomorrow". There really is not much to do on this island. It's so laidback, adn the locals are amazing. I can say that I've done absolutely nothing since being here. I met some great people, Bio "the island's shaman", Netty "the young vibrant one", Johan "our Swedish pirate: yarrr! - are you ever gonna leave this island?", Ralph "Switzerland", Audray "fellow French Canadian", Adeh "the Malay rastafarian", Rosie "the Vibe TV Addict", and [View Full Entry]

On Pulau Pangkor Asia » Malaysia » Perak » Pulau Pangkor
Got to Pulau Pangkor late yesterday afternoon. After a very short 4hr bus ride to Lumut I took to ferry to the island (20 mins). Staying a Nahzri Nimah Chalets. A nice little "A" frame hut down a road a few meters away from the beach. Really nice cozy atmosphere with friendly staff and nice guests. Pretty much laze around all day doing nothing but that's ok, that's what I'm here for. Met a Malay girl who's staying here also and invited me to go visit her "village" in Taiping a town an hour adn a half away from here. Considering [View Full Entry]

Teluk Nipah beach, Palau Pangkor, Malaysia

So yeah, now that I've got a icket out of KL to head to Lumut (which I bought last night), I wake up this morning in agony! Ok sorry for the details, but you asked for them. In Goa about a week or so ago, I started this weird rash liek thing on the back of one of my legs, No biggie just small spots and not really itchy at all. It happened to me before when I was in Mexico, and I think it was from swallowing sea water and it left as soon as I left to go home. [View Full Entry]

Got back to Malaysia yesterday afternoon at around 1pm. I'm still staying around CHina Town in a different hostel. It's funny how that all the other countries I've been to, which I would expect of them more then KL, did not have bedbugs where I was staying. But for some reason both places I've stayed here had them. this one place more than the other. Las night before going to bed I saw a few crawling around one of the beds in my room and I said to myself: "Oh great! Here we go." Well i woke up this morning with [View Full Entry]

I swear, being in this country is like being on constant PMS...LOL The reason why I say this is because one day you love it and the other you just can't take it anymore. Nothing too harsh, but the mixed emotions this place gives you. Don't get me wrong, I think I love this country because of it's culture and differences and adventures, but it just really gets to you. It almost sucks you in, you either never wanna leave and just want to see every corner of it, but on the other hand at some points it's just too much [View Full Entry]

Get me outta here! Asia » India » Maharashtra » Mumbai
Ok, so after spending so much time on the beach where it's quiet and just lazing around...I can't take big hectic cities anymore! I took the train from Canacona to Mumbai last night and arrived early this morning (6:30 am). I think I just got so used to the buses here that I really truly did not enjoy the train all that much. I was on the upperberth (really high up there) in 2nd class sleeper, no a/c, on a pleather cot with screaming babies all night long.. yeah well no sleep for me. At least theere were toilets on board.. [View Full Entry]

Crazy bus ride... Asia » India » Goa » Palolem
So last night I decided to go for a beer at Cafe Cuba on the beach.... Felt I deserved it for doing nothing really LOL, ended up staying there 'til about 11pm. Met a guy named Xavier from MTL. It kinda gave it away that he was Canadian because of his Canada Post shirt... He's been living and working here since December I believe.. I think I went to bed around 12am. I actually slept in for the first time in a while today... 10 am!!! WOW LOL I had to head into Margoa today, a town near by. I took [View Full Entry]
