Don't choose! Please be careful with Salty Bear, this is such a terrible company. they messed up with reservation (forgot), showed up 1.5hour late, offered discount to make us feel better on the spot then actually charged different price on the card (not the rate we agreed after the "discount"), changed the story what actually happened and no response after that. Such an ashame that we were screwed by this dishonest company. irresponsible.
It's been ages! I can't believe it's been two years since I was in Tam Ky! I'd love to make it back to Vietnam but at this time it doesn't look like I'll travel outside of North America for at least a couple of years! Oh well.
Chips with everything! It used to be a standing joke in England that you get "chips with everything" (french fries as we known them in the States). being an old codger from UK, I always take the chips - they taste so different than the crap they serve at Micky D's, and to my way of thinking, enhance any English meal, and your waistline of course!
I was staying in Beverly last July 2006, at the Beverly Arms Hotel. Not a bad hotel, and yes, I did stop in at the Rose Pub for a pint of my favorite brew.

Wondered whether Tam Kay really existed as have spent hours "surfing" to see a picture of the town but haven't had much luck. I am wondering what I have let myself in for as I am going 3 weeks yesterday to do some volunteering at an orphanage. Not sure which one yet. Anyway, was nice reading your journal and looking at the photos. Thanks
Take care and kind regards
Brenda

Baby orphanage Hi Bonnie, I just stumbled across your entries here when trying to search for the baby orphanage outside of DaNang. I went there in Nov 2005 and would like to send donations, but cannot locate where to send them to. Do you have the address of the orphanage?
Thanks,
Robert

READ THIS MESSAGE!!! I love everything you say in your journal. You are a very talented writer and I am also a very talented writer. Be sure to buy Socialized to pass your time doing nothing. Write more of your journal even though I'm the only one to read it. I am also from Tam Ky but now I'm a rich writer which I'm sure you'll be someday just like me. Even though it's hard to be like me.
Thanks for the laughs! Just wanted to let you know that your blog has been keeping me entertained. I know what you mean about having a "blonde" moment. I seem to have quite a few of those myself at times. Great to read you made it home safely and I look forward to blogs on future travels you may have.

Love your friend, Robyn
Hello all, welcome to my travel blog. Anybody coming here will probably know me already, so I'm not going to write anything about myself. The entries here will be describing my Round the World Adventure, taking in Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, India, New Zealand, Australia, Europe and beyond. The adventure begins December 28th, 2004 to ?? I'm travelling solo for the most part, so will no doubt be writing here lots when human comapanionship is lacking, I'm obsessed with keeping the blog more or less up-to-date or the parents want to know of my whereabouts! lol ... full info
