It's been ages! - From: Then there was one...almost
I can't believe it's been two years since I was in Tam Ky! I'd love to make it back to Vietnam but at this time it doesn't look like I'll travel outside of North America for at least a couple of years! Oh well.

Chips with everything! - From: Rain, rain go away already!
It used to be a standing joke in England that you get "chips with everything" (french fries as we known them in the States). being an old codger from UK, I always take the chips - they taste so different than the crap they serve at Micky D's, and to my way of thinking, enhance any English meal, and your waistline of course! I was staying in Beverly last July 2006, at the Beverly Arms Hotel. Not a bad hotel, and yes, I did stop in at the Rose Pub for a pint of my favorite brew.

Wondered whether Tam Kay really existed as have spent hours "surfing" to see a picture of the town but haven't had much luck. I am wondering what I have let myself in for as I am going 3 weeks yesterday to do some volunteering at an orphanage. Not sure which one yet. Anyway, was nice reading your journal and looking at the photos. Thanks Take care and kind regards Brenda

Baby orphanage - From: The heat is making me lethargic!
Hi Bonnie, I just stumbled across your entries here when trying to search for the baby orphanage outside of DaNang. I went there in Nov 2005 and would like to send donations, but cannot locate where to send them to. Do you have the address of the orphanage? Thanks, Robert rfordham24@hotmail.com

READ THIS MESSAGE!!! - From: Last night in Tam Ky!
I love everything you say in your journal. You are a very talented writer and I am also a very talented writer. Be sure to buy Socialized to pass your time doing nothing. Write more of your journal even though I'm the only one to read it. I am also from Tam Ky but now I'm a rich writer which I'm sure you'll be someday just like me. Even though it's hard to be like me.

THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE OKAY!! - From: Just another day in Tam Ky
So here i am...already a couple weeks since you left and I had not heard anything from you!! I become worried, but think...she's fine! No news is good news..right??? What if i log onto her journal?? maybe she has entered something to let me know she's okay and arrived there safely! Eureka!! I had a heck of a lot of reading/ catching up to do! So i signed up to get alerted everytime you made an entry (which i thought i already had, which is what got me all worked up in the first place!!) It sounds exciting and scary over there! Not to mention delicious! What an experience! When your trip is done..you should definately publish this journal...well, at least all your haikus... they're fantastic! Here's one for you: OH SO LONELY HERE NOT THE SAME WITH YOU SO FAR WE MISS YOU BONNIE! We do...i can already tell vancouver visits will not the same (no offense to others)! Nick's hockey team has brought home Gold - From: Fine day to go to the beach today...
You sound like you are having fun. I will keep this comment short as your internet connections are kind of iffy. We just came home from a hockey roadtrip. Nick's team beat nine other american teams to bring home the gold. The boys worked really hard and had such a great time together. In the dressing room, one of the boys stated "I'm going to remember this moment forever". The huge trophy is at our house right now and we will be rotating it amongst the players. Last night, I presented a personal hygiene and grooming session for the Pathfinders. Once we had the makeup on the girls, they looked like 12 going on 19 (scary). The kids miss you and ask where you are. Jacqueline has made herself quite comfortable in your room. Nothing else much on the homefront. Take care, Y - Yvonne

Update - From: Xin Chao!
Hi B, Wow, having Pho every morning must be wonderful. Not having to do your own cooking or grocery shopping. The whole family came down with the flu the day after you left. I've had a very light case but it is pretty tiring having to take care of a bunch of babies. J was pretty good, the first day she made N lunch, gave him a shower and then did the laundry. She did call me in a panic as the laundry detergent fell through the hole (it's suppose to). Now that I know she can do all that, I'm going to give her more responsibility. Anyways, will keep this short as I'm sure you don't want to spend all your time reading e-mail. Later, Y - Y

Happy New Year's From Richmond - From: Another relaxing day in Tam Ky
Happy New Year's Bonnie! This is my first attempt in responding to your very informative and entertaining journal entries. It's wonderful to hear that you have landed safely at your first destination. You will soon be a pro at bargaining at the markets. You will have to pace yourself or you will end up with mucho junk to carry on home! Will look forward to hearing more of your first day with the "babies"; could it be your own youthful baby face that determined your placement? New Year's Eve was spent quietly here at the Lee Household. Everyone was in bed by 11:00 p.m.! I was awaken briefly by some neighbourhood revellers banging their kitchen pots n' pans around midnight. New Year's Day arrived with sunny but cold skies here in Richmond. There were reports of light falling snow in parts of the Lower Mainland. Take care for now, Your Aunt K. - Aunt K.
