Someone has used too much Toilet Duck on this one
Bath had escaped us the first attempt, but we were determined to catch it the second time round. The Roman Baths are quite a sight! It's a little bit of a shame that they have been built and rebuilt so many times that it is hard to fathom which parts are old and which is new, but the main pool is still quite incredible. There was a bit of a chill in the air and there in nothing we would have liked to do more than jump in the pool, (we could see the steam coming off the water). Unfortunately, we [View Full Entry]

Go Ricky!!
I had a day on my own to check out the sights of London without Bing. With some fleet-footed tube catching and a jingly-jangly pocket of pound coins, I speed through some of London town's favoured points of interest. I give top marks to The Tower of London, which is not is high as the Sky Tower, which is pretty embarrassing for Britain, but still quite cool.. It had tons of Bling in it. Mr T would have been impressed. They called this stuff the Crown Jewels. It was also good of them to put on Ricky Gervais as our Tower [View Full Entry]

The support team
After a suitable period of mourning, I am finally emotionally prepared to write of the rugby 'incident' that was.. Al, Bing & I decided we had 4 significant goals for the day: A) Collect our rental car and ensure we wern't ripped off and given a bus of some description B) Successfull arrival and check in at our dodgy Etap budget hotel and ensure the booking was valid C) Not being refused entry from Cardiff's Millenium Stadium with what could very well be pirated tickets. D) Win the game Meatloaf says '2 out of 3 aint bad' but his maths is [View Full Entry]

I'm the real 'Euro Star'
Today we caught the Eurostar from Paris to London Waterloo. It took about 2 and a half hours which isn't bad going considering how long it takes to walk. We caught up with Al loitering like the vagrant he is at Waterloo station (He has been referring to it as Watertoilet) Off to the pub we went for some Beers and a good old English pub meal and then off to bed ready for the big drive to Cardiff for the game tommorrow!! Go the All Blacks
We left Athens and a quick 3 hours later, arrived at Paris Orly airport. A little bit of navigation of the Paris tube required before settling in to our new home for the next few days, Residence Foch Hotel. I now have a raging headcold and therefore was sent straight to bed under instruction from Doctor Bing. I had a small nap, whilst Bing checked out the local 'Shopi' and provided us with a good supply of bagette, cheese, ham & coke. Later, I negotiated a 20 minute walk around the local area with Doctor Bing. We checked out the Arc [View Full Entry]

Getting into the postcard business should be a snap
We are loving our time in Imergovilli even though we can't spell it, or pronounce it. Apparantly the place to go for all the scenic postcard type shots, (you mean we havn't had the really good ones yet???) is Oia which we saw by boat the other day. Apart from us hard core kiwi adventurers who have been walking everywhere, most people seem to use donkey or quad bike to get around. Not wanting to be outdone, but mainly not wanting to walk all the way to Oia, we hired a couple of quad bikes and headed off. For the record, [View Full Entry]

Land Ahoy
Kirsty decided all this lying around was getting a bit much and we needed to get off our rears and actually do something. So, we bought tickets on a boat called the Albatros and headed off for a day around the island. The boat stopped first at the Volcano, (which we climbed.. because it was there), then off to a hot water bay where we all lept off the boat into the water as there was no pier. It felt a bit like the boat was going to sink since all the passengers went to one side of the boat, the [View Full Entry]

Ok, I decided to purchase a cowboy hat as I thought it might make me look a little more mexican. (by the way, the moustache is going well) Unfortunaely, I may have started something. Our entire posse have now purchased cowboy hats and our theme of the holiday is to look is cowboy/mexican as possible. Steve is probably winning as he started growing he mo back on September 1, wheras mine has had a brief interuption. Mike has recently stormed from behind with a strong showing, however due to the late entry of Jase, his mo/mexican look requires some ingenious lighting [View Full Entry]

Lifestyles of the rich & famous
WOW! Santorini is amazing! All the troops managed to find each other, even though we were on 4 different flights and checked ourselves into the Galaxy Apartments in Imergovilli (which is totally incredible) We have a giant barn, cave dwelling which actually has sleeping for 10 people, (although there are only 5 of in that room) Our room has 3 bathrooms, 3 double rooms, and a kitchen. Upstairs, there is a pool, sun loungers, and a fantastic view. Needless to say, we won't be spending much time away from our hotel. It's pretty hot here, 25-27 degrees, although it gets cool [View Full Entry]

Big Columy Thingy - Also known as the Parthenon
We left Rome very early (4:45 wake up due to strange time zones and early flight) Significantly cleaner and incredibly easy to navigate, Athens was quite a site! Our hotel, the Athens Gate is just down the road from the Acropolis so we had to check it out even though we were exhausted. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with two long tall glasses of water and free turkish delight!! It was a good start. I was hoping for some sort of tram or cable car contraption, (or at least something with a pulley system) to [View Full Entry]
