Hey All, Well in the last 2 days we have really seen alot of the Ireland! We caught a rail tour from the Connolly station in Dublin at 7am on Saturday morning and we were off to see Giants Causeway which is up in Northern Ireland. The train ride to Belfast was about 2 hours long, and then we spent about 6 hours on a coach heading even farther north... we stopped off at a rope bridge along the irish coast (and the name escapes me right now), but it was about a 1km hike up to the bridge from the [View Full Entry]

Hi All, We have had a nice couple of days! We were in London on Tuesday for the day, and checked out the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge (we actually saw it open! Very cool!) and went through the London Dungeons - the pictures are awesome!! So on wednesday we were full of history, and saw the crown jewels - it was a great day, and the weather held out for us until then. We had been pretty lucky - the sun was shining every day since we arrived! Wednesday night we got to go to the dinner theatre [View Full Entry]

Well Jo, Helen and I have had a busy couple days! We started out on Sunday with a trip out to Portmouth to see the ships that are anchored out there. We started with a tour of the remains of the Mary Rose, which was raised in 1982 - it was very interesting to see, and some of the artifacts that they pulled up around the ship were amazing! It was King Henry VIII's favorite flagship which he watched sink just off the coast, so it was underwater for about 430ish years before they raised it - it was really interesting [View Full Entry]

Hi All, So Saturday we headed off for the day to Bruges, Belgium with Helen, Jane and Alan - the bus ride was about 4 hours and then we had to cross over to France on the ferries. I had never been on a ferry that size in my life - so it was quite an experience! I had to laugh when we pulled up to them, when Helen was in Canada we took her on our little 4 car ferry to Peace River - but it would have been totally small potatoes compared to these huge ferries!! Bruges was very [View Full Entry]

Hi All! Well we (Jo, Helen and I) ventured into London yesterday for the day, and stayed for the night before we caught the tour out to Stonehenge and Bath today. London was awesome!! We walked so much though that we figured our feet would fall off, but we shopped enough to make it worth it! :) We took the train into London, and through Helen's awesome directions on the tube we were able to find our way to King's Cross and then on to our hotel. After checking in, we decided to head on to Covent Gardens for a little [View Full Entry]

Hi All! So we (Jo, Helen and I) ventured up to Warwick Castle today to tour around. We travelled through the Castle and checked out all of the wax figures in all the rooms that were set up, and then we started the climb to the watch towers... first to the smaller tower that over looks the river and the boat houses. Beautiful scenery! Then we went down to the Peacock gardens and stopped for a drink and some ice cream before starting the 500 step climb to the top of the tallest watch tower! The first set of stairs wasn't [View Full Entry]

Hi All, So we began day two after kicking the jet lag with a good nights sleep. We had a very relaxed morning and did a little more planning as to what else we want to venture out to see. At about 1pm we headed out with Helen and Jane to check out Jane Austen's house in Hampshire. This was the house where she re-wrote Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, and wrote Emma, Mansfield Park and Persuasion (all this rambling Jane Austen info is more for Marnie's sake... I'm sure anyone who is sitting within earshot of her can [View Full Entry]

Well we made it safe and sound! The plane ride was long but good, and for the record Jo and I have lasted a day without a fight!! (This is a very big deal!) We arrived at 6:15am in Gatwick and then was on our way to Reading with Helen and Michael. After a bite to eat we set out with Helen to check out the Abbey Ruins here in Reading, and then we stopped off at the shopping mall (so many shoes!) At about noon we both powered out and had to come back to for a nap... I think [View Full Entry]
