Bexterwexter - Rebecca Jones

We are a Couple from Northern England who departed Sunny Manchester April 2007 travelling to South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
We returned home in late 2008, feeling we want to move permanantly down under, but without too many qualifications and points, the hard work starts now to become eligible!
In the meantime we aren't living in a box, in between working and studying. we intend (thanks to Ryanair's 1p flights!) to see as much of UK, Europe and closer destinations to home before we hopefully depart!!

We hope you follow our journeys around and we hope by reading, future travellers may find inspiration or helpful information.

One of the promises that we made when we returned home was to go and visit Maarten and Lyke in Holland! Since we met this lovely couple they have had a beautiful baby girl called Sophie who is 4 months old now......... So on one day in May we arrived into Dusseldorf Weeze airport to be greated by Maarten! Back In January we went on our first trip to Italy and our first trip out since we returned to the UK in November! Having finished our 20 month "vacation" six months ago we felt it was time to properly finish our trip by updating the website to reflect our status, why we haven't done it before now I don't know, but here goes..... From Kota Kinabalu (where we arrived) we firstly headed to a place called Sepilok which is where the Orang Utan sanctuary is...........around a six hour bus ride away. From A "High" point on the island

We missed out a blog on another place that we visited in Western Australia..........this place being Rottnest Island, we visited there on my birthday. Rottnest Island is a 20km (30mins) boat ride from Fremantle docks. We were lucky enough to have bikes that Lynda and Sean had kindly lent to us. The Island itself is only 11km long and 4.5km wide so nice and easy to ride around!! The ferry that you take accross charges you a fee of $12 to take your own bike with you, which we were quite shocked about but it is still cheaper than renting one [View Full Entry]
