We are both currently attending Bangor University and living on Ynys Môn or Isle of Anglesey, we have both been fortunate enough to travel extensively, and wish to continue on that theme, when an opportunity presents itself!

We hope you follow our journeys around and we hope by reading, future travellers may find inspiration or helpful information.
Enjoy from Rebecca and Stephen

Eighteen months ago in Perth, Australia we rented a house for our stay, supplied with tv, dog and the rest, the lady who's house in which we were living was quite a roamer herself, and had a lovely Moroccan carpet displayed on the floor, It was with this in mind that when we visited Morocco that we wanted to browse, (casually of course) for a traditional - hand made - one of a kind - super-duper carpet. The initial ground work for the going rate is achieved by visiting the Artisan Ensemble, a government run initative with fixed price woods, pottery and textiles, here is probably the only place in Morocco where you can examine local goods without a smiling man in a jellaba appearing to tell you of his excellent price. This is all part ... read more

I Recently took advantage of a "Ryanair 1 million flight sale" to go to Dublin for the day, now Ryanair get a lot of bad press, and yes they are very crafty with their pricing structure, and to the naive or unprepared quite frankly you can get stung badly, but use them right and they will probably be the cheapest flights you can buy anywhere in the world. So it was armed with that past booking experience that myself and Rebecca were joined by fellow Conners, Jones, and a Rowley, and so we had a day out for 8, for the princely sum of 16 english pence. Ireland was buzzing in the day, in anticipation of the soon to be scandalous second leg between France and the Republic, so that was the dominating subject of the day, ... read more

In December 2001 I visited Grimsby on the East coast of England with my pops for a football match that will live long in the memory... for me and my Dad that is, the reason for this unmemorable event was that we both agreed that it was the coldest we had ever been in our lifetimes. Biting wind, driving rain and sleet, and two seats on row 1 with no roof above us all contributed to a shivery, dithering 2 hours at Blundell Park. Fast forward 8 years and myself and Rebecca booked flights to Riga in Latvia, I was convinced that my Grimsby experience may be beaten, in a "how cold can you get" kind of competition..... Latvia along with neighbours Estonia and Lithuania were accepted into the European Union in 2004, Riga in particular ... read more

One of the promises that we made when we returned home was to go and visit Maarten and Lyke in Holland! Since we met this lovely couple they have had a beautiful baby girl called Sophie who is 4 months old now......... So on one day in May we arrived into Dusseldorf Weeze airport to be greated by Maarten! It was a bit unreal at first to see him there as the last time we saw him was back in Hanoi in Vietnam around 18 months ago. We hadn't realised that he had driven for 2hrs to come and collect us across the border in Germany........we thought that the airport was alot closer damn google maps!!!!! Anyway we drove a lovely drive through the Dutch countryside to there home town of Oldenzaal just north of Enschede! ... read more

Back In January we went on our first trip to Italy and our first trip out since we returned to the UK in November! We did say that it wouldn't take us long to book a flight to somewhere.......this time to Milan to see our good friend Mar with Liz and Rory as company! Before we knew it here we were on a cheap Ryanair flight, once arriving in Bergamo airport we picked up our hire car and set up Liz's sat nav to take us to Mars home on Lake Maggiore. We arrived in the dark to cobbled streets crisp winter air and Mar's lovely appartment which a hot drink was greatlfully received! Unfortunately Mar had to work so it was the four of us........ A late night and early morning wake up call due ... read more

Having finished our 20 month "vacation" six months ago we felt it was time to properly finish our trip by updating the website to reflect our status, why we haven't done it before now I don't know, but here goes..... We checked out of Singapore finally after dashing through the border here on a few occasions,we were the only westerners on our flight with cheap Tiger Airways in Singapore's low cost terminal, unsurprisingly we found no Swimming Pools, wireless Internet or Rolex Watches unlike our last flight from this financial city, what we did find was a plane full of Indian passengers checking in 40 to 50 kilos each, every other passenger checking in Televisions or washing machines, obviously a few folk had been on a shopping trip in Singapore! One plump chap in front of ... read more

Borneo, land of misty mountains, orange fur pimates and many animals unique to this part of the world! From Kota Kinabalu (where we arrived) we firstly headed to a place called Sepilok which is where the Orang Utan sanctuary is...........around a six hour bus ride away. We had been told by the people at the hostel that it was very easy and all you needed to do was get to the long distance bus station which is half an hour away and you can buy your ticket when you get there no problem! so.................... Arriving at the bus station at 7.30am we wanted to get on the 8am bus, we asked at the first window for two tickets to Sandakan for the 8am bus the lady behind the window said 'no'!!!! No???? hmmm it seemed that ... read more

Just a quick blog from south Eastern Sabah in Borneo, Becky will add another blog today or tomorrow, after leaving Sandakan and Sepilok Orang-Utan Rehabilitation centre, we heading down to the town of Semporna so i could do some diving, I had read alot about the diving here, especially at the acclaimed island of Sipadan, regarded by many as one of the best dives in the world, I had also read alot about the small harbour town of Semporna, much of it none too complimentary, and 5 Km's out of town with palm trees on either side of the road i was thinking maybe people had been slightly harsh, upon arriving I take it all back..... Semporna is a hole and probably ranked alongside the Cambodian border with Thailand in terms of prettyness..... The towns residents ... read more

Hello everybody, we hope that you are all ok........here is our story about our latest movements............... Eight hours from the Gold Coast airport on a bargain $200 each flight with Air Asia X we arrived back in the hustle and bustle of KL! It was strange going back to somewhere where we have been before but nice that we knew where we were going and what we wanted to do. Kl hasn't changed one bit, Petaling Street which is china town, full to the brim with stalls selling cheap food, copied handbags, watches, cd's clothing and anything you can think of really oh how we have missed it. We were straight into shop unil you drop mode, as we have been saving to buy a new SLR camera since Australia and KL is the place to ... read more
