So today we had great plans of going to the places we missed out yesterday and heading to the weekend market to spend out! But first we had to check what time the parcel delivery service closed, it revealed the worst news ever, because it was a sunday it closed at 5! We awake early in our grunge hole and find ourselves some half decent accommodation, just off the Khao San Road. Its betters but we soon learn that the air con is crap and we really need air con here its baking! Its not so much hot its just really really muggy, just walking to the toilet i get a sweat on, hehe nice mental image for you all there! So after a much shortlived stay in Chiang Mai - though of course being the shoppers we are, we managed to fit in the Chiang Mai night market! - we are back on our way to Bangkok, for the last part of our Thailand stay. Arrive in Bangkok and get an airport bus to take us to a hostel. Haven't really a clue where we're goign or where we need to get off! After camping out in Bangkok airport for 4 hours we get our flight and arrive in Chiang Mai. Its seems a very lovely place, but we're for one thing and one thing only the mighty Chang, no not Thai beer, Chang thai for 'Elephant'! I booked us a trip to an Elephant Nature Park as a belated birthday present to Michelle. Mmmmm yes forgot to say in the last blog, when we arrived in our bungalow after last night we found a sorry sight! We'd been invaded my ants! Being the complete nonces we are we'd left our pizza boxes in the room and the little blighters had come to terrorise it! So we had fun washing them out - quite literally! We're back in action after Michelle starts taking her antibiotics and gets on the road to recovery! Woohoo, thought for a minute then i was going to have to continue on my lonesome! Get upearly to get started on our journey to Koh Samui. We get picked up by a rather full minibus and find ourselves squeezed into the front passenger seat with the driver - all rather cosy! Then we change and board another full coach and head to the pier at Surat Thani - takes about 7 hours to get there so its a rather tedious journey! After numerous invites for free 'go-go' shows and 'ping pong' shows - we decided to make a shift exit from Phuket, down the coast to Karon beach. Get another atrocious taxi driver! We tell him where we want to go to in Karon and he agrees and drives us there, but when we actually get into Karon he decides that in actual fact he hasn't got a clue where our hostel is and that he now can not speak English - Great! Arrive in Phuket and share a taxi to Patong with a French dude - not sure what it is about us and French people over here!! That reminds me, i got an email from the French we met in India the other day and one of the guys got bitten by a dog in India and had to get to a hospital and get an anti rabie injection - how scary is that!
