After a hectic night and morning of packing - no really its just getting ridiculous the amount of stuff we are trying to cram into one backpack, i now seem to have about 3 extra bags whilst Michelle has somehow managed to pack everything into 2 bags, just how does she do it!! So we got settled in with my aunt and uncle - had our first aussie barbie, unfortunately there were no shrimps and our dreams have been somewhat ruined by my cousin who says australians don't eat shrimps on the barbie - it has now become our mission in oz to find one aussie who does eat shrimps on the barbie!! Suffered a strange sense of deja vu over here in Bali, we're getting to celebrate new year all over again!! So let me set the scene for you, imagine all those films, pictures and postcards you've seen of a lush paradise, with a raging river running through lots of palm trees and tropical flowers, and magnificent waterfalls at every bend. We've now hit Bali - after nearly missing our flight because yours truly was on the throne!! Oopsy! So we land and take some cash out and have now become millionaires!! So we're back in Singapore ready to fly out to Bali-hi! So in the day that we were here we managed to cram in all that we hadn't seen a few weeks ago! This trip we are staying in Little India - an area of Singapore inhabited by Indians - its reminiscient of being back in India - only cleaner!! So our time in Thailand has officailly come to an end. We're both quite sad about this as there is still loads we haven't done and sights that are yet unseen - so you can bet your bottom dollar we will be back in this land sometime in the future! I thought seen as i'd done this for India i might as well do it for every destination! 7/eleven The English quivalent of Spar - this is a upermarket chain with at least 2 appearing on every street. The weird thing is that its open 24 hours - bearing no resemblance to the name whatsoever!! I actually can not believe i omitted this little beauty out of my last blog!! Must have been the side affects! In Bangkok we came across numerous street stalls selling an array of fried insects, they had scorpions, cockroaches, grasshoppers, beetles and maggots! So in the spirit of being a backpacker and trying all things new - i go in for the kill!! Purchased a bag of deep fried maggots accompanied with soy sauce and off i go!!
