MONTEVERDE We left San Jose, leaving behind two hot Panamanians we met at our second night of partying, destination: Monteverde, a beautiful little village up in a cloud forest. After long bus rides, in a normal bus and the fabled chickenbus,a cheap converted american schoolbus used by police and bus companies here in Middle America we arrived in the cloud covered Monteverde. This is where we took on the Extremo ziplines, cables suspended through rainforest and between mountains, the tarzan swing: jump off a ledge freefalling for a few seconds after soaring on a rope through the jungle, and of course the superman: a 1km zipline, suspended between two mountains hundreds of metres in the air, you go flying while a harnass on your back lets you fly (like in a dream) through the air. Travelling. We left Utilla, Honduras heading towards San Jose, Costa Rica. The journey would take us through San Pedro Sula whhere we had to sleep one night. We arrived early in the morning and were greeted by a hostel owner offering free transport to and from the bus terminal and rooms for 10 dollars, a good deal! Because our group was pretty large it meant 2 trips in his minivan, so off went the first group, we were group number 2. As soon as the minivan left the VULTURES descended (taxidrivers) "TAXI, TAXI TAXI!" after telling them about 100 times we already had a ride, listening to them offer us better deals (paying instead of travelling free) and them telling us the minivan would never come back and a taxi pulling up, opening the trunk and ... read more

Coming at you from the Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras! It's seriously nice here, we arrived with the catamaran from Roatan, wich was total shit, just local wangsters selling weed and coke. Utila on the other hand is very chilled out, inhabited by pirate decendants that speak Pirish ;), an english/jamaican mix. And not forgetting the population of divers from all over the world, because Utila is known as a diving heaven. We started the PADI.Open Water Diver course and finished it after 3 days of theory and 4 dives, 2 to 12 and 2 to 18metres. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed it, diving is cool as shit! Tomorrow we go solo on our two free dives as certified divers, and we have a party and barbeque waiting for us on the island together with Parrot's Dive ... read more

It´s 00.45 and we have been awake since 10.00 yesterday, but the day isnt over yet because now we have to get a bus to Belize City. Checking our travel book makes it clear NOTHING TO DO IN BELIZE, we get on the bus, sleep a few hours an wake up at the Mexican Belize Border. After not being checked because the immigration officers were too lazy and having our passports stamped, its time to head on to belize city. As we arrive somewhere around 6 in the morning it becomes clear: we dont want to be here, the city is a collection of little houses, most of wich look like they are inhabited by squatters, this'plus advice by fellow travellers that we could better just move on from there inspires tge decision to get a ... read more

Blog number 2 lets go! PLAYA DEL CARMEN Actually better than we first thought, the streets are lined with mexicans selling you the world¨s garbage : hats/slippers/sweets and fake mayan crap. But the nightlife was apart from the shitty Dansen Bij Jansen music pretty good, we met some beautiful mexican girls who i later met again before i left Playa. The beach in Playa was nothing short of AMAZING : beautiful white sandy beaches, the best weather ever and crystal clear sea. Sitting at the beach at night was also very relaxing. We made the trendy beachclub fusion our place to be for relaxing, wich served us some live reaggea and fireshows at night. And of course we met some amazing people there that gave us a truly memorable last night. COZUMEL Island half an hour ... read more

Oke guys here goes, Arrived in Cancun, and to give a short summary : BAD FOOD , HOT AS SHIT , CRUMMY HOSTEL , funny looking people, beautiful beaches. Last night we sat on the main square and listened to a mexican version of Adolf Hitler rant about christianity. We cant wait to get the fuck outta here. Finding food is dramatic seen as all you can eat here are tortillas and burritos, the quality of wich compares to the worst shoarma amsterdam has to offer. Chillin at the beach is our only cool moment of the day, apart from our beautiful airconditioning back at the hostel. Enjoying the beautiful clarity of the Caribean sea. Apart from the beach all you can do here is get hassled by cabdrivers looking to pick you up, or go ... read more
