Last day ...

 Europe » Italy » Lombardy » Milan
So this is really the last entry now ... Its Wednesday night here, and Im gonna go out to downtown Milan for a bit. Today I took a train ride up to Lake Como. There I took a ferry around the lake for 2 hours and then walked around a bit in Bellagio. It was all really nice scenery with big green mountains (and some snow topped mountains far away). No motion sickness today, Im guessing because it was a bigger boat than the ones in Venice. Yesterday I did go see the Last Supper which was cool and a big [View Full Entry]

Sad to leave Venice

 Europe » Italy » Lombardy » Milan
Hello again everyone, my blog seems to have slowed down a bit this last part of the trip... I left Venice this morning after 3 great days there. It really was a great city with so much to see. I walked around for hours on the last day because I couldnt take the boats anymore. Unfortunately, they made me a little sick from being on them so much. Nothing major, just a little bit of dizziness. It might have also been the loud banging of the bells, since I got stuck at the top of the bell tower when the bells [View Full Entry]

Venice....City of Water

 Europe » Italy » Veneto » Venice
Hello again everyone, this time from Venice! The city is great! Maybe my favorite yet, it is so beautiful. I specially love riding around on boats to go everywhere. The buses are all boats (there are no cars here), they are a little bit slow but it seems like people arent really in a rush here, and neither am i. They have bus stops along the way, and the different routes are posted, they even have express and local routes just like the subways. The city itself raelly is beautiful, and they have all these glass shops, which apparently is the [View Full Entry]

Hey guys! Its been a couple of days since the last blog! and a lot has happened (as usual) ... My first full day in Florence (yesterday) was quite a daty. I went to the 2 major museums here, which includes the David, and did a tour of the famous Duomo (Dome) here. The museum where David is kept was really cool, and so was the Duomo. I went all the way up to the top of it (some 400 steps). The view from up there was great. I got up there, put on my headphones, and sat for a bit. [View Full Entry]

Arrived in Florence

 Europe » Italy » Tuscany » Florence
Well hello again everyone... I just arrived in Florence after a long train ride. The place Im staying at here is pretty nice. Im a litle confused about Florence itself. It is confusing getting aroud, much more confusing than Rome. Im sure I will get used to it. I did want to tell you guys abou the great day I had yesterday. After seeing some ruins in Paestm in the morning, the people at the hotel let me borrow a bicycle to get around town! I went down to the beach for a bit and rode round this small beach town. Train Travel

 Europe » Italy
Hello again everyone, Im gonna keep todays entry brief...its been a long day of travel but really a great and different day. I started off taking a train from Rome to Pompeii where I saw the ruins. That was really great. Its such a huge city that was buried underground when the volcano erupted. Then I took a smaller train to a small town called Paestum. Its a small town with some interesting ruins and also close to the beach. The train ride was realy cool because it went thru a bunch of smaller towns. It was nice to see a [View Full Entry]

Day 4 - Stayed in Rome

 Europe » Italy » Lazio » Rome
Hello again everyone! Thank you to eveyrone who has written comments too! Its good to know someone is reading out there. I ended up not going to Pompeii today (Im going tomorrow). I stayed in Rome and had a really good and pretty relaxing day. I walked around Capital Hill, which has a museum and some other sites. It was really great. I also went back to St. Peters Basilica and walked around Vatican City a bit. I then finished it up with dinner near the Spanish steps. Im really glad I spent the day in Rome today, since it is [View Full Entry]

Day 3 - Exhausted

 Europe » Italy » Lazio » Rome
Wow....today has been the best day here so far! The morning started off with a tour of the Vatican, which included the Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica. I think St Peters was awesome. Some of the art in there were just ... great.. I dont even really have words for it (yes that sounds very cheesy). The Vatican took the whole morning until about 1pm. Then after lunch I headed out of the city and into Ostia Antica. This is the ruins of a city from about 2 AD. It is amazingly well preserved. You can actually walk into apartments [View Full Entry]

I am such an ass .... I got the computer working .... Here is my first blog! So its the end of my 2nd day in Rome, and it has been great (and exhausting). I have seen sooo much already. This morning I saw the colosseum, the forum, the pantheon, a bunch of ruins, a bunch of churches, and a castle. My legs hurt... Yesterday was also a crazy day. My flight was delayed a little, and I was supposed to meet the lady whose hostel I am staying at to get the key (Itās really a 2-bedroom apartment with a [View Full Entry]
