We guess...
The name of the place must be "Uitkerke" I 'm sure and the other picture must be a tooth of... Toots Tilemans, completly disformed by playing his mouth-harmonica.

Great to see your blog!
Hi guys Madeleine and I are back home in York now but still in China in our minds! Missed you on your last day at the red Wall Hotel but we felt we had at least said goodbye and had our hugs at the restaurant in the Oriental Plaza in Beijing. (Hope you enjoyed the aubergine Robson!)... We have some pics to email you but will do this later... When in China we heard that our neice Claire and her husband Adam had been delivered of a new baby - a boy - and they have named him - BEN!!! This news was long awaited and his name is such a bonus to us - as we know 2 Ben's - one in York and one is YOU - on a year long travel with his partner! Robson - I hope you are not too dissapointed - we do have another neice expecting a baby in America - but I am unsure of the odds of her having a boy and naming him Robson - but we live in hope. Wishing you guys all the best - we missed you as we were on our own once we left Beijing. But had a great time in Xian and in Shanghai. Will follow your blog avidly--- Love from Terry and Madeleine

Wow
Mongolia has so much mystique. Thanks for sharing. i wish i could go there but from what ive gathered, its cheaper to go to wealthier countries than to underdeveloped countries like mongolia and africa. and mongolia is beyond my budget at the moment but i hope to visit someday. thank you

I´ve been to Meteora!!!
Oh my God... It was in 1996... I went to Greece and Egypt during my 30 days of holidays. At that time I was able to take holidays... I organized to spend one week with a italian cousin that got married with a greek and was living at Larissa, a city in the middle of the country. And when Sunday arrived, all the family (they have three children; now in the 20´s) brings me to know this fantastic place. I became really impressed with Meteora, his history, his unique beauty. I remember very well some moments (not necessarily specials) from that day, just because the day was special. But one image remain so strong in my mind -- the blue sky. A kind of a base for a kind of a picture for that strange forms of mountains that are able to hold in each one one monastery... Well, now I would like to say something about that week that I spent with my cousin´s family in Greece, but that nothing has been with Meteora. The children of my cousin -- in that time between 6 to 10 years old) were so kind with me. They speek greek, of course, and italian -- in Italy live the biggest part of my cousin Carmela´s family. Two or three weeks before I arrived the three started to speek only italian to improve the language to talk with "that" Brazilian cousin that they didn´t understand how come was living from so far away. Look so kind: before know me, they decided, and they were only children, they WANTED to keep in touch with me. It was a lovely and unforgettable week in my life. A gift of all Gods of Greece.

Unsolicited Advice.........
Happy travels, robson and benoit. I can sense the excitement already, just reading your pre-trip blogs. Mind you, I was able to relate to the unpacking and checking and removing some stuff. Since it looks like you have a long trip ahead, you might want to take photos of your various visas, passports, credit cards, hotel vouchers if any, etc. and email it to someone or just keep it as a draft in your mailbox. Comes in handy should you lose any of these important papers. Eases the anxieties , knowing you have a copy of all docs somewhere.......... enjoy, guys!
