Bangkok You can read as many tourist guides and travel advice brochures as you can. You can tick and cross reference checklists and take as many precautions as possible for every conceivable situation that could arrise travelling in a foreign country. But it appears that no matter what preperations and precautions you take, something you don't plan for will eventuate. In this case, our cameras were stolen. Yesterday morning Max and I woke up early to catch the P.P service ferry from Phi Phi Don to Krabi, where we were picked up from the port and transported by car to a tourist information centre somewhere outside of Krabi. Here Maxine and I had to wait for a few hours for our contact to pick us up and transport us to Suratthani, where we would eventually ... read more

Phi Phi Don Island Hello all! What a day today has been. Max and I hit Phi Phi town last night for some alcoholic mischief! We had some drinks in a very loud irish pub and then walked to a nice looking resturaunt for dinner, where I think I was poisoned. After spending hours on the toilet and getting little to no sleep, Max and I went in search of water at 3:30 in the morning. I chundered down the Phi Phi strip, leaving a little piece of Ben on Phi Phi island! I'm still sick now but have gotten a lot better since this morning! Despite my chundering sickness Max and I still managed to hire a tour long boat to take us around the Phi Phi islands. This was amazing! Our first stop ... read more

Phuket ,Karon and Don Phi Phi Island Hello the maybe two people that read this blog. Max and I have just arrived on Don Phi Phi island, the primary Phi Phi island. Like Bangkok, Surathani, Phuket and Karon beach, it's hot as hell!! Karon was beautiful and the nicest place we've been to so far. It was quiet and the hotel we were staying in was amazing!! In Karon we enjoyed the amazing hotel, drinking by the pool and eating in an awesome restaurant. The day after arrival we set out to see the sights of Phuket; paid an astronomical 300 THB for a ten minute Tuk Tuk ride to Patong beach (the tourist capital of Phuket), to see what all the fuss was about. The most we can say is 'meh'. In phuket we ... read more

Bangkok Day Three - Our Last Hello Australians!! Maxine and I have both established that it is far to easy to get sucked into shopping in Bangkok, Thailand. You might have a destination or even a deadline, but markets or giant plaza's will pull you into their grasp and you might find yourself spending more money and having more luggage than you thought originally!! Today started off a lot like yesterday; HOT!! Early morning Max and I decided to visit the holy temple, Grand Palace and the emerald Bhuddha (check out the snaps). This thing was HUGE!! Before Mid day we returned to the hotel to pack our things and prepare for our trip to Phuket tonight, lugging heavy bags and luggage down Ratchethewi to DRO for 'safe' keeping. We've now made our way back ... read more

Bangkok - Thailand 14-15/07/10 Hey everyone! Max and I have been here for a night so far, after spending 36 hours in transit from BNE, witnessing what COULD be the most embarrassing excuse for an international airport in Brunei (you know you're in a foreign country when the first toilet you visit out from home you have to squat into and has retractable shower heads for... I'll let you use your imagination) and getting absolutely no sleep from what COULD have been food poisoning from some god awful air line food, and to top it all off losing your phone in one of bangkoks 100 million Toyota corrola taxi's. Believe me, when we finally arrived we both slept like babies! However not all is bad, I had some help from hotel reception getting in contact ... read more
