Some 4 days and 8 buses later with a short stop off in Atacamas - Ecuador, we (me and the crazy Italian) were in Columbia. Not much to say about Ecuador except its the first time in my life where IĻve lied about my age to make myslef younger. I know, can you believe it, even with a baby face like mine I was saying I was 18. Atacamas is like the Newquay of England with as many young aspiring teenagers looking for fun and frolics as the surfing south coast of England. So being at the grand old age of [View Full Entry]

Welcome to Playa Blanca

Our next great place of destination was a place called Ica, although u dont stay there, thats just the city, its completely surrounded by desert and in the middle is a little oasis called Huacachina. It is absolutly in the middle of the desert and is purely for tourist to go sand boarding and relax..... or not! This place is beautiful but a shame its just touristico. So we did some sand boarding, and of course I was a natural, but you couldnt go that fast so we sat two on one and sped down the dune. I also took the [View Full Entry]

Lollys Lovely Legs
As if the bruise wasnīt bad enough from the first days biking adventures, the mozis wanted a go, and feasted on Lols legs to make them real pretty.
It was probably the worse start to any tour. The company had just told a few too many porkies about certain particularities. After picking us up an hour late and telling us we will be going on a local bus instead of private car like stated, we’re were pretty fired up. Well actually the fire might have already been in us from the night before, when our laundry (basically all our clothes and underware) was no where to be seen. When the nice lady said she’ll drop it off at the hostel, after we turned up and she didnīt have it, [View Full Entry]

After the jungle, San Pedro, and Worlds Most Dangerous Road, time was running out, we needed to get to Cusco in Peru for the festival of the Sun (Intiraymi), which is there Winter Solstice. But we still had so much to do. So it was a quick dash to Copacabana to visit Lake Titicaca, the worlds highest navigable lake. To get to Lake Titicaca we went on a ferry.... but not the conventional kind that you might think. we demounted the bus and took a boat across whilst our coach literally rode across on a plank of wood with a small [View Full Entry]

Worlds Most Dangerous Road leads from La Paz to Coroico, and is the only option of travelling to and from these places. The road begins at a high altitude where fog can make visibility difficult and ends at a low sub tropical climate. The road surface is slippery and muddy with large loose rocks from the hillsides above. Some parts of the road are no more than 3.2m wide with no guadrails and a vertical drop of 2000m is not uncommon. Further still the lorry drivers that precariously use the road are often drunk and careless and do long stretches of [View Full Entry]

Our hour flight back to La Paz from the Pampas tour was amazing, but we knew their was little time to relax.... and shower as we had to be on the ball and arrange the remainding activities in La Paz. San Pedro Prison was first on the list. Itīs a real live prison, with real criminals; rapists, muderers, drug smugglers, etc. But at the same and very weird time, its a tourist attraction. The gringos in one section of the prison have set up tours for travellers to come and see the prison, all they have to do is bribe every [View Full Entry]

Since leaving Alex and Kerri in Sucre, travelling hasnt exactly gone to plan.....We had to take a plane out of Sucre in the end, as we could wait no longer for the dame blockages to finish, however expensive that was, it was a blessing in disguise. What was meant to be a 14 hour bus journey with the possibility of chickens on our head, or in Amys case just a man leaning on her head (previous journey), was a mere 45 minutes to La Paz...... Amazing! After spending some very messy nights in the capital, we decided it was time to [View Full Entry]

Stading in the only square in Uyuni waiting to go to the Solar de Uyuni.
First stop in Bolivia..... the Salt Falts (Solar de Uyuni). We decided to wait a day or two in a nothing of a place called Uyuni for a big group to conglomerate and go on the tour together, what we didnīt anticipate, when waiting for the Irish that they had met James Attwood (Alexīs friend form Uni) and had told him "yeah come on the tour with us, weīre going with 3 Essex girls".... God knows what was said. So the 9 of us (the smoking Danish, Irish and us) departed Uyuni on the not so reliable Jeeps to go into [View Full Entry]

HELP ME!

From smoggy city centre of Buenos Aires we traveled, viajamos (I canīt help but speak in Spanish, it just flows now) to Bariloche. In brief, its the Swiss Alps/Laurens heaven. Little chocolate shops everywhere! We decided to go horse riding, seeing as Amy hasnīt stopped raving about how good it is. When we met our horses, and our beuatiful instructor pointed up the mountain to where we were going we all laughed. Surely not we all thought, on a horse. (By mentioning our beautiful hosre instructor I couldnīt let it slip how beautiful the guy was who worked in the hostel [View Full Entry]

Brief Intro Iguazu Falls is the latin Niagara Falls or so Iīve named it, havenīt actually seen that written any way as its stands alone on impressiveness. The falls are made up of 275 different waterfalls spanning an area 3km wide (thought Iīd throw in a bit of geography as, after all this is my fortay). Iguazu Falls borders Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, and can be viewed froim all three countries. They say that the closer you get to water the happier you are. Something to do with the ions in the water. People have actually been know to uncrontrolable bust [View Full Entry]
