We arrived and stayed in a hostel across from the main city centre, s The central location meant that we went straight out into the evening entertainment. We just immersed ourselves in home comforts, it was fantastic! Everyone we had spoken to had not liked Brisbane, we felt completely different about the city half way down the east coast. Having spent an uncomfortable night with the world's wierdest snorrer (not me or me) we felt we had to find somewhere else. This was also our first experience of people actually living in hostels as they looked for work and started to [View Full Entry]

So we sailed! It was awesome, as was the weather : ) Major sunshine, the best so far, by a long way. Adam went snorkelling, Becci did not. (for fish reasons). We saw turtles and stingrays, jellyfish, and a whole host of lovely fish. Hmmm. No whales though! (Apparently August is the seaon for this!) The sea was blue, the sky was bluer and we lapped it up. good times had by all = D The crew were slightly on the mental side, and mixed various concoctions of alcohol (that even Adam wouldn't put his name to) for us to drink [View Full Entry]

Becs wrote the title and not my good self. That means the cheese is rubbing off. yesssssssssss. Tripped it down the coast on a fast track to the other sandier island of the Fraser variety. A stop in Airlie Beach and Hervey Bay slowed us down by a couple of days. Kookubura's was our hostel before we left and when we returned from our dune expedition. Becs feels on top of the world and invincible because she can now say that she isnt afraid of a five litre 4x4WD Toyota Land Cruiser. Not only that it was carrying 10 passengers including [View Full Entry]

There wasn't really a great deal to do here. Apart from drink n wander around. Which we did. The whole time. Oh and we booked stuff too... Firstly, a sail on the Whitsundays, secondly, a Fraser Island camp and a bunch of other stuff too. It rained in Cairns. a fair bit. which sucked. But it was still sunny and kinda pretty! After 4 nights in Cairns (a few too many!) we headed down to Townsville, which was complete sleepy town, until it hit 10pm, when it appeared that someone had flicked an imaginary switch and the place was mental and [View Full Entry]

We thought it was hot in Perth!! Average temperature out here 41 degrees C!!!! The red centre was definately that! The teminal proved that there is no need for huge airports!! We picked our luggage up off the tarmac! We stayed in the one and only Uluru resort where we would pick up The Rock Tour!!! and paid the price for an exclusive market. It was slightly our own fault, three bottles of wine worth! Hehe! The following day we met up with the tour which had driven since six am for six hours to meet us, kind of them!! We [View Full Entry]

Finally we arrived, late, tired and wet to a huge hug and over excited auntie who had been waiting for an hour in arrivals. The drive back seemed to go on forever because we were soo tired. Having landed at half three in the morningwe didn't make it to a bed until nearly six! Waking up the next morning was hard work and so we stayed in it for as long as we could until we were wrenched from it with the promise of the beach and a great sunset into the Indian ocean. It was most impressive. What was even [View Full Entry]

Firstly, we went to Kuala Lumpur (They abbreviate everything in this place!) So KL.... After an overnight train, that was a good few hours late, we finally made it to our hostel. Hostel Cosmopolitan, doesnt sound quite so fany with 'hostel' stuck in ther, but it was nice enough. Adam liked it alot as they offered six pieces of bread for breakfast. I found a Topshop, which is pretty impressive on the other side of the world! But there was also a Marks and Spencer and most British High Street shops!!! It was very much a business city, but still kinda [View Full Entry]

This was the trip that lasted 14 hours and took us from one country to the next in three mini buses and a ferry, two customs offices and finally a prebooked known location of a hostel, yes a hostel. We are back slumming it and we love it. Three quid gets you some serious luxury in Malaysia!! The only reason we were on a bus this time was because we tried to book our train ticket 24 hrs in advance, it needed to be 3 days!!! On a serious note we were picked up at 7 am and spent the whole [View Full Entry]

We had to get ourselves to the ferry port in order for us to sale to Phuket, we recognised a couple of faces so that was good. The sun had finally decided to shine good and proper for the first time since we had been in Thailand. The sky was clear instead of hazy and the air was beautiful. Only problem was we had to get to the ferry as it was to shallow to come into port. This was to be done using a long tail boat. A slightly bigger motorised gondola! There were two that took our group out, [View Full Entry]

Having taken a couple of days to get ourselves back on track we managed to get off the party island and head back to the mainland where it became clearer and clearer that it was about getting from a to b. As we travelled through central Thailand there where no easily accessible trains so we had to take the plunge and bus it through the country; the only problem was that many did not travel at night to the destinations we wanted to go. Krabi was no different and instead of going a to b there was c, d, and e [View Full Entry]
