Hi all, We are coming to the final day of our trip - boooo!! Las Vegas was cool, we are probably about even on the money, up a bit on Roulette and Dave finally sussed out the black jack which I could not get to grips with! All winnings were put to good use on new shoes!! We also managed to take in a show - Mamma Mia - fantastic (well I thought so, Dave is not really an ABBA fan!) Anyway just a quick note, we are now in LA where we fly from tomorrow so we are just having a relaxing night trying to pack all of our things into our back packs........having to choose what to leave behind due to some new purchases (not just me!!) Not that we don't love you all ... read more

Hello everyone, We made it to Vegas in one piece and just about still talking to each other. Vegas is a bit mad and I'm taking a little while to adjust!! I've gotten used to sleepy towns and cities over the last 8 weeks and this is a definate culture shock. Lau seems ok though, she's already located the nearest hair salon and clothes shops. Anyway, I'll update you on what we've been up to over the last few days since our last blog. Think the last one was when we were in between Chicago an Mt Rushmore on the 90. Well we saw Rushmore and Crazy Horse (both pretty impressive - Crazy Horse is gonna be huge once it's finished) then moved onto Rapid City and Cody. A couple of Wild West towns - we ... read more

Hi - Sorry have not 'blogged' in a while, finding Internet access is a pain in north US plus we have been hectic driving from state to state and even a small detour into Canada (wasn't planned!!) Anyway - arrived in New York on time after a 12 hr flight and did a bit of shopping, visit to Broadway to see Wicked and a few drinks in the revolving restaurant at the top of the Marriott. (Dave remembered it was quite cool from your wedding Cheryl). After that we picked up our 'compact car' which is as big as a UK family car!! We then set off up to Niagara and got extremely wet, both by the falls and the non stop rain!!! From there we took a four hr detour into Canada (best way according ... read more

Hello all, Dave here. Since our last update we've been to Paraty which were our last few days as part of the Drago tour. It was a lovely little fishing village with friendly people but not so friendly dogs. We were camping again and cooking for ourselves.......my group's turn unfortunately but our braised pork chops went down a treat. Voted best of the tour by our official judge. The day after we spent the day on a boat, island hopping. Working on my dives from the front and both of us working hard on our tans!! Mines working out a little better than Lau's. We returned and had a bbq on the beach for the last night of the tour......oscars night. We won best couple and I won 'man points award' mainly for my fire building ... read more

Good morning, afternoon, evening to you all! Hope you are all well and enjoying what looks on the BBC website to be the usual british summer!! You have me again as Dave spends all of his internet time catching up on facebook and checking up on how his X11 teams are doing! Also sorry for bad spelling etc, you have to pay by the minute so I am not going back and you cannot do spell check! We are still in Brazil but now travelling east making our way to Rio for the end of this stretch. The weather is still fabulous but a little cooler at night, still camping and getting a few nibbles from the mozzies! From the Iguazu Falls we had a couple of long drive days and bush camp. We eventually found ... read more

Hola....... Sorry it has been a while we have been busy and camping a lot so not as much access to internet as before, anyway we are now in Brazil and spent the last few days in Argentina so I will update you on that whilst Dave is asleep by the side of the pool!! okay so I think we left you in Tupiza, Bolivia where we had a long and boring 2 day drive, bush camps and then boarder crossing to Argentina and 3 days of action packed fun in Salta. Although one of teh drive days was renamed 'happy truck day' so the boys got really drunk and were a bit poorly - dave included but I will let him tell you all about that if he ever wakes up!! The only down side ... read more

First of all Lau says thanks for all her birthday messages......I´ll come on to how we celebrated in a second!!! It´s been really eventful since our last blog and we´ve started to find warmer weather. The salt flats at Uyuni were amazing and we had a full day checking them out. The whole group jeeped out onto the flats and we´ve some unbelieveable photos. (Managed to borrow a camara from our group leader but haven´t got the lead to upload.......sorry). Some of the group had a bit of a scare.....one of the wheels dropped off the last jeep. Luckily just as they were setting off but it could have been really nasty.....Bolivian health and safety isn´t the best.....you should see the electric showers!! Overall the day was great but the best was yet to come. The group ... read more

It only snowed for one day!! The next day it was bright sunshine and nice temperatures. We had quite a few days in La Paz due to the Bolivian voting.......basically everything stops and they´re not allowed to sell alcohol for 48 hours.....rubbish. Anyway, the vote went ok and Evo Mendez won which is good......it could have got quite nasty if it had gone the other way. We´re getting into the local grub.......pizza. There are so many pizza places it´s stupid. La Paz was a pretty cool place once we got our bearings. Lau particularly liked the witches market, especially the dry still born lama´s.....apparently they´re good luck if you build a house on top of them!! Next up was Potasi, the highest city in the world, 4,090m. After a 9 hour drive we were up for ... read more

Sorry we haven´t been in touch for a while, we´ve been mountain climbing, camping in romote villages and going out on team meals as soon as we arrive anywhere new. Just arrived in La Paz, Boliva and it´s snowing outside.......can you believe it.....some summer holiday. Only joking we´ve been really lucky with the weather up until now and Lau managed to get sun stroke in 30 degree heat on Machu Pichu. So to recap on the last week or so, we set off from Cusco visiting various Inca ruins along the way. It started pretty tamely but we soon realised we probably hadn´t done enough fitness training when we climbed to 4,200m as a training day!!! Laura was finding it difficult to walk and breath at this point but luckily we didn´t suffer from any altitude ... read more
