Sam and Dan have gone on a boat trıp today and as you know boat trıps dont usualy go that well for me so Ive decıded to have a relaxıng day restıng my foot, whıch I slıced open pretty badly jumpıng off rock ınto what looked lıke deep water, but wasnt. I also had my camera stolen, not sure ıf I told you ın my last emaıl, not lookıng too great for the ınsurance eıther, ıts a nıghtmare tryıng to get a polıce report out of turkısh polıce, theyre scared of sayıng anythıng has been stolen so then just wrıte I lost ıt at thıs tıme ın thıs place, have to waıt and see now ıf that wıll be good enough for ınsure-and-go. Now then, this barclaycard thing. A missive did pop through the letterbox with something about barclaycard on it but by now it could be a) in the pile of papers for transfer to the tip sometime in the next 6 months b) in the bin c) on the compost heap or d) still on the hall floor where it landed but now lost beneath squash kit, stuff brought back from holiday, boots, shoes, maps, Robert's clothes etc etc. Don't worry though - I will find it and deal with it. |

Now, had you wanted Jane Austen, I could have helped you out... But who am I to talk?! I´ve read what I´ve written: didn´t they have dictionaries/teachers at my school!? So it will have to be travelling people. Are stories about people you´re never going to meet boring? OK, well, last night I met a Chris (US) and a Clara (Netherlands) for a drink at 9. I was on the Caipirinas, Steve the cuba libras and Clara the tea (yeah, just normal tea). We went to a bar we expected to be a place for a quiet nightcap but it was more like a small nightclub full of v young Ecuadorians and had a bit of a dance before going home at two. This is one end of a fairly large group of people all at the same language school (not mine). Is this at all interesting? |

Oh, and don´t lose sleep over the volume level: cranking it up a notch or two won´t cost you much extra wattage. Now you run along and enjoy yourself... i.e. it's all true. Using ESP will half your battery life, so keep it off. But extra volume doesn't equal extra power, so crank it up! |
| 15th July 2005 Hels | - From: Another rum do but, yes, beautiful Hey honey! - am hoping that I can finally make a posting! so... if you are still in La Paz go to the prison if yuo can - they do tours around it and it is amazing - the prisoner who I went with has now been released but I think other people may do it... its called San Pedro and you have to buy your own room in there f you are a prisoner and they take their families in with them and have shops and jobs and make cocaine inside. Well worth it for the complete weirdness of it xx |

We went twice and it was totally different each time - once full of gap-yaaah-garys (you know the type - travelling beads, too-tanned-for-their-own-good, on mind-altering drugs etc etc) then 2nd time we went was really local, with samba playing and lots of people who pushed my 'soy inglesa' Spanish well beyond its limits. Anyway, hope you enjoy the salt plains. So funny to think of you in all these places where I was! But so cold - can't imagine that. It was soooo hot when we went to the Salar and with all the reflection off the white, it was almost more than a wee redhead could handle! Stayed with Em Elliot last night who snores like a trooper so am consequently struggling at work this morning. Did I tell you I'm moving in with Em? Quite exciting! And do you know a friend of hers called Bobby...?! |
