Soooo... it´s my last day in Sevilla! Just picked up all my luggage at school... now have to find something to do with it all until 9pm tonight because we fly out at 10. It´s going to be a long night... 13 hour layover in Madrid, then home to chicago at 2:20 tomorrow afternoon! As for the past week for travels... so much fun. The rest of Greece was awesome. Welll... we left Sevilla on Friday. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone! Well, not everyone, because they are about 15 people in our program that are here in Greece also. So far, Greece is amazing. We stayed our first night in the airport since our plane landed at about 3am. Then the next night we stayed in a hostel in Athens. Saturday during the day we did pretty much all of the touristy things around the city... the Parthenon was awesome. Back to school for the last week of classes. Weird that I´ll be leaving Sevilla in less than 2 weeks. This weekend was a lot of fun. Friday we woke up early and met at the train station at 8am. Me, Beth, kelly, Sam and Brock rented a car for the weekend to drive 3 hours to Cazorla which is North East of Sevilla. The drive was pretty smooth with a few detours in some little towns... but we ended up making it to the lodge early afternoon. Last weekend was a lot of fun... all week long while we were in Morocco it was "Feria" in Sevilla. Its a week long celebration to get together with your family and friends and flamenco dance and listen to music and eat and drink. We went to the Feria grounds (huge fair grounds) Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday day. Sunday was the official end of Feria so at midnight we went down by the river to watch the closing fireworks. This week of class is almost done... and then next week is our last week of classes! Morocco was amazing... by far my favorite trip of the semester. We went through a travel agency called Discover Sevilla that is kind of based toward study abroad students, so we went with a group of about 100 with along with 4 people that work at the agency (most of which had studied abroad in Sevilla and came back to work there after they graduated college... and then there was the main guy David grew up in Sevilla). Friday... after a 6 hour bus ride we arrived in Lagos at about 10pm. We found our hostal... which was by far the nicest hostal i´ve seen/ stayed in. It was filled with people around our age and there was a huge entertainment room with couches and a big tv and a couple computers. Soo... Tuesday, my birthday was great. After school we went home and had paella for lunch with sangría that María José got for my bday. Lunch was delicious and then for dessert we had this cake that was like 2 layers of white cake with some kind of cream in the middle and nuts around the outside that señora bought in a store. I was sooo full after lunch and then went to meet up with Ella and Ryan for awhile. heyy! it has been awhile since i´ve updated my blog... so i guess today is the day. well, last week was semana santa (holy week) in Spain, and i was here all week because Ella is in Sevilla! semana santa was interesting to see, but got verrry repetitive by the end of the week. each church has a procession with a float that is over 500 years old and it´s amazing how many people walk in each procession. each church wears a different color "tunic" and there is music and candles... lots of tradition. it was fun to see, but impossible [View Full Entry]

Hola! Ella got here today! FINALLY!!! Right now I´m at an internet café. It is BEAUTIFUL here today... probably about 80 degrees. Ooh what a weekend! It was so much fun! Friday morning we had a flight to Madrid at 12:30pm out of Sevilla. It was me, Beth, Cody, Colleen, Ryan and Michael.
