awwww ... all over :-( Awwww ... you must be gutted to be leaving. Are you back today? How funny to bump into JJ ..... small world true enough! Looking forward to seeing you at Easter, hearing all the stories and of course sampling the cuisine! Will catch up with you this week A x x
Colour me Bad Hiya
Wow the end is nigh..... From the colours of Holi, Lils's wants you to get covered in Pink (obviously) and I think I'd prefer you to be covered in White just to hide the suntan. Presume you have become a leatherette handbag from your two days on the beach!!!
See you soon honey XXXX
I am now cleansed Hi Carrie. Only just caught up on your blog (fab as ever). Have been in bed for over a week, which sounds like heaven for someone who is always sleep deprived but have been suffering from the Flu. Yep me, and like you I don't do ill. Anyway, my pigs trotters are slowly disappearing and I hope that I'm not left with a curly tail. Perhaps you should have packed me in your backpack and washed me in the Ganges to rid me of my germs. Loving the Naked Nanges, although back in the UK they'd probably just be called Tramps. Bit sad cause me and Mr E are not ganna be able to make it to the Girls Premier - miss out again. Enjoy your last week or so, looking forward to seeing you. The E's xxxx
Carole, selfishly can't wait to have you back! Blogs continue to be fantastic and if you see a gown pls get one in a size 14, Pippa Dee and I are having panics about the premiere black tie outfit crisis!! see you in a week - yeah! xx
what i am going to do........ ......without your blog updates? You'll have to keep them going - life in Milk Link and Bristol. I'm sure you can make something colourful out of that. It might prove a helpful distraction for you as well when you have to return to normal life.
Married in 12 months hey? Love it. Your destiny is in your hands. I'll be keeping track - counting down the months.
I'm gonna miss this.
not a duty it certainly is not a duty reading your blogs, more a longing to join you on your wonderful journey, looking forward to your next and maybe your last one before your return to reality. love dad
Hello Hi Carol
It sounds as though you are still having fun. Glad to here you made it to the Haridwar, it sounds amazing. You should stay away a bit longer as the icy winter continues here - more snow on the way. I think we are all suffering fron SAD by now, I can't wait for it to get warmer!
Well, I've settled into the job in Cark. The first few weeks were full-on and I was beginning to wonder what I'd taken on. However, it has quietened down a bit now and I've had a couple of weeks in this lovely place on my own. The only trouble is that when I am alone, I am very alone as I don't know anyone to play with! I guess that will get better with time but its hard to meet people when you are working most evenings. The boss is a control freak who wants everything done his way but I suppose that goes with the territory - you don't make millions without telling everyone else what to do!!
Glo and Mel are still in Perth but Mel is coming home on the 24th. I should get to see her and catch up with their news before she heads back to France.
Happy travels for the rest of your trip and hope to catch up with you when you return. Make a note of my landline (015395 59538) as the mobile doesn't get a signal in the frozen wilds!!
love, Kim
Dog Soldiers Taking a tip from this and the next time I'm abroad I will always dress in Blue (will look like a smurf, but hey that might be an improvement) and then I'll be protected against those horrible midges - no bites on me. Can't believe you are coming to the end of your adventure but looking forward to seeing you. I'm definately up for a ruby murry. Lots of Love, Take Care. Lizzie xxx Hugs from the Kids and Mr E
P.S. Was it like Dog Soldiers at night?
Hey Great entry. It just all sounds so wonderful.
Can't believe you are coming to the end of your trip already. I am a bit worried about you lurking about near the edge of the Ganges in such dangerous conditions. Perhaps you ought to prepare yourself and wear some sort of inflatable device just in case you get thrown in the water.
Not quite so glamourously, I went to Invercargill to meet the PM. I had make-up on, push up bra and everything. He didn't even glance in our direction - he pinched some cheese and then legged it back to his entourage. Guess who won't be getting my vote next time round?
Loads of love
Helen
Got the link Hey you, I got the blog link at last and really glad I have, very impressed by the quality of writing Ms Bryson!
It all sounds amazing and when I have time i'll be going back over the older blogs, until then continue to enjoy your travels, avoid camels testicles and when you are ready to come back to blighty give some clothes to the poor - make some room in the pack, shell out the 5 rupees and you can come to playgroup with me!!
Princess of Farts .... I think you do coy very well, although your alternative pose is much better! Must be nice to see a familiar face in Susie. Take care and keep the funny stories coming! A x x
Just spent a good hour catching up on your travels....sounds amazing, and bringing back some memories of india of my own. I've definitely decided that you should travel and I'll find out about the world via you....I couldn't do what you do and go without my home comforts and luxuries - just thinking about the "loos" again fill me with horror, and they weren't on a 10hr train journey! A quick update from me: I've been to my NCT classes and there is such a things as too much knowledge so feeling nervous, scared and excited in equal parts. Bump is growing but I wish it would stop - it's becoming really difficult to do stuff and I'm getting tired easily. I finish work in two weeks which will help. Lots of Love! x
Trendy Goat Great blog, is that goat really wearing a polo shirt?I bet the Ghanji is enough to put you off eating fish? Enjoy Nepal watch out for those Sherpas!! Brucie
You and that goat need to toughen up Baker ... cold my ar$3! Your ship-mate Patrick has still got his shorts on!! ;-)
Sounds brilliant Carole ... and loving the Elvis Guest House .. uh hu. Keep us posted. Looking forward to hearing all about Nepal. A x x p.s. there's a season on Channel 4 just now called Indian Winter that's got loads of film and docu stuff that's all things India .... you'll need to watch on 4OD when you get back as you'll love it. I was watching the guy from Grand Designs last night living in one of the slums in Mumbai and thinking of you .... amazing place. look after yourself x
So, I have my redundancy (hooray) and am off on my travels again. This trip will last four months and I aim to take in a little bit of Malaysia (for the beach), New Zealand and Australia (for the beer, BBQs, extreme sports and handsome guys) and China (for the hell of it)!
Having said that, on my trip around South America I managed to more or less ignore my planned itinerary, going in and out of Argentina three times, missing out huge parts of Chile and swinging through Columbia.
Hopefully this travel-blog will keep you up to date with my adventures as and when/where they happen.
