| 2nd December 2009 Louise | Thanks for your pressie! - From: Back to Australia - Darwin & Cairns Hey Janey, Just thought I would let you know have got your 2 postcards and love the fridge magnet - it now has pride of place next to the donkey magnet you got me in Santorini! Keep up the good work, am so jealous - I want to do Fraiser Island again! It was soooooo much fun - although heaven help the people on the island when you take over the jeep! Keep us posted, your blog is the only thing getting me through the working day! (still no internet at home - we do now have Sky TV and a telephone line though! take care and miss you loads x x x x x |
| 15th November 2009 Deb deb | I've caught up! - From: Back to Australia - Darwin & Cairns Hey Backers, I've just spent the past 40 minutes catching up with the blogs. Everythings looking great. It was dead wierd to see the boats in cains after seeing everything that Bali had to offer - it was like you was back to normality. Ha! Ha! I loved the croc pictures because i'm a big croc lover anyway. You keep up the good work. Enjoy everything you have planned - which sounds like loads!!!! Deb xxxxx |
| 2nd November 2009 Lisa | Janey!! - From: Indonesia / Part 2 Janey - loving your blog. Firstly the big pig rice thing was called Babi Guling!. I Love your blogs, they really feel like being back in Indo. Can't beleive this goes back to horse riding on Gili T. Your horse was SO lovely, and mine was such a pain in the arse - remember that bit when mine acted up when the horse and cart was coming past and yours bolted - bad times! Loving your pictures from Kuta, Lombok as well, wasn't that beach amazing! I was so close to being 'the beach'! and then Lovina and that awful day when you skidded, God i felt so bad. Is your ankle better now... it's not infected any more right?! Hope you are well! I'm off to New Zealand tomorrow - have had a fantastic time in Sydney and Melbourne. Stayed with friends in St Kilda in Melbourne and Bondi in Sydney - had a brill time. So jealous you're going to be seeing Jen when you're here! Much love and looking forward to hearing all about Aus, Lisa |
| 13th October 2009 deb deb | Loving the floating market! - From: Charming Cha-am Hey backers, I'm loving the floating market - it reminds me of the James Bond film, when they are speeding through it on a speed boat. I can't remember what the film is called though? I would of loved it there and yes the extra large straw hats are just so you. ha! ha! ha! Secondly i too am very concerned about the bunnies wearing dressings! I feel like ringing the RSPCA - i am sure this is cruetly to animals. Do they cook and fry rabbits? And i really hope you didn't try the fried chick delicacy - i'd find it difficult to forgive. Changing the subject, you'll never guess what arrived this morning. The postcard from Broome! Can you believe it. I did get 2 postcodes last week from Asia (one with the monks - likey, likey!), so they arrived before the austrailian one? How bizzare! I have quite a collection now - very impressive!!!!!! You should be in Bali now and i hope it's living up to it's expectations. I'm going to have to go and get ready - i'm due at the dentist in 50 minutes and need a bath - not enough hours in the day! But i will email either later today or tommorow. Fill you in on what's been happening in the stylish, hip, fun, swinging town of Wigan. Watch what your doing and i'll speak to you soon! Miss You! Chunky Deb Deb xxxxx |
| 5th October 2009 Louby Lou | I am still here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - From: Off to meet Joe again !!! hey babe, sorry not spoke to you in a while. Have no internet connection in the house yet, am checking the blogs at work (my lunchtime reading) but it's been really mad so not been able to post any messages. Your time in Asia sounds brilliant, I only wish that I could have travelled to Laos and that way. But I know what you mean about Bangkok, although after a while I loved the crazyness of it! The house is coming along, the new bathroom is in and we had to fork out over a grand for a new boiler. It's not upto changing room standards yet but just love the fact that it's all ours. So you coming home for good at Xmas or is it only a flying visit? And of course we're missing you babe. |
| 4th October 2009 Ruby | Thank you - From: Real Travelling Begins - Kuala Lumpur!!!!!.. Just a note to say thank you for coming and I am glad me and my staff manage to help u in many ways. Please do keep in touch. Ruby Low |
| 19th September 2009 Deb's | Looking fantastic! - From: Leaving Malaysia for Thailand Hi Jane, Feels like i've not heard from you for ages. Was actually thinking about you this morning and then logged on to find you had at last updated. Your well and looking like your having such a brill time - still in no way shape or form jealous at all!!!!! The island photo's look out of this world. Somewhere i would definetly love to experience - but i couldn't cope with the travelling aspect (coach/bus rides) and the food. I would end up starving wouldn't i? I've heard no mention of chips, bacon, burger etc.. and definetly not my kind of cake if it has a egg in it!!! ha! ha! How wierd! You still haven't forwarded your new mobile number my way, so i have not been able to call you. I have been working loads anyway - but if you forward it i could give you a call Thursday morning for a catch up - we've not caught up properly for a couple of weeks. To be honest not much to report. Same old, same old. A few events have occured (i'll use your coding!): House Flooded by central heating tank ball cock break - Coding D Car Window smashed by a big scrubber to rob our Josh's PE Kit - Coding D 3 Speeding fines in the last few weeks - 9 points and £180 in fines - Coding D This Tuesday in A&E with our Josh, due to a stange, trauma rash to the back - Coding D So apart from the usual very bad luck that swings my way on the odd occassions, everything is as much as it usually is. Nothing exciting to report. I'm going to go now. But please remember at all times remember all your belongings. We definetly don't want another code D on the bag front. Some things will just never change!!!! You carry on having a really great time and experience as much as possible whillst your out there. Miss You - Deb xxxxx |
| 18th September 2009 Stuart | The Monkey! - From: Real Travelling Begins - Kuala Lumpur!!!!!.. The monkeys starting to bug me now! |

| 5th September 2009 Deb Deb! | Alive! - From: Real Travelling Begins - Kuala Lumpur!!!!!.. I've missed not having blogs - but i'll let you off because you've been so busy and there's not much internet around. You know, Asia seems like a perfect choice - the monkeys and mini turtles - again i would of needed to put those in my backpack and take them them home with me! ha! ha! I bet it's like another world? There's nothing better than getting than away from the hustle and bustle of everyhing and going to places that are undisturbed. By the way - still not jealous! I'm so glad your enjoying yourself. You seem to be really having a good time again - and actually travelling!!!! All though there are only so many buses you can get on. I'll await your contact number and catch up properly on the phone. Look after yourself! Deb xxxxx |
| 22nd August 2009 Deb Deb | Be Careful! - From: Leaving Broome......finally Hi Jane - Good day Mate! Thought with it being the last time i would be able to fit that in for 5 weeks i would include it. Ha! HA! Your off again - at last! I think you could of been a official travel rep for things to see snd do in Broome. It's back to Perth were you began and then off to Asia - it sounds scary dosn't it? Please try to be careful over there. The culture and everything is going to be so different. Not sure i'm keen on the 24hour train journey alone - so make sure you keep a eye on your belongings! Please listen to Deb Deb!!! But at least after the train journey you have a friend back to see and do everything that Asia has to offer - Kula Lumpa sounds very intriging - whats there? And hopefully your money will go a lot further. Still loving the piccies and even though you have been missing home you still look like your having a really good time. It will be funny when you return home and read back through this blog - it's like a online diary! I want to do one!!! Only problem is i'm going nowhere. I still have a number of people asking about you and how your doing. Darren (from next door) was asking how you was yesterday and said he wouldn't of minded coming with you. The old gang is still missing you also. It will be good to catch up and see you in person when you return. I'll count down the months - ha! ha! I would fill you in on all the ongoings over here in crappy Wigan - but i have absoultly nothing to report. The weather is shite. Nobody has been up to anything. I've just had a weeks holiday and done nothing but spring clean and decorate - that is how sad and pathetic i am! So you go and have fun for the rest of us. Take care and be careful! Deb xxxxxx |
| 10th August 2009 Loppy lou | You are the greatest! - From: Working and Saving Up in Broome Well i have just managed to pick myself up off the floor after laughing so hard at your ear plug story - we can always rely on you Jane! at least you're having fun! I know what you mean about Team Asians in the kitchen aswell - although you will be glad to know there seemed to be less on the east coast so you can prepare your food better. And your off to Asia!!!!! I wanted to go to Cambodia and Laos, sounds fun and like you said not fully been hit by the commercial trains yet so still cheap - am sooo jealous (yet again). Life here is just revolving around the house, but as you said will be worth it (it better had be!). Keep up the good work and keep writing these blogs - I love em and they are one of the rare things that get me smiling at the mo! Love ya babes x x x x x |
| 5th August 2009 Deb Deb | The fun you can have with a ear plug! - From: Working and Saving Up in Broome Hi Jane, You must of just wrote this blog as i was emailing with regards the phone cost - cause it wasn't on when i emailed on monday! So only just read today - Wednesday!!! The photos are really, really good - i am very impressed! In my specialist Tom Cruise opinion though i do believe the chinese girl to be so wrong - the man claimed looks nothing like my man tom cruise. Please make all aware!!! With regards the phone cost. Good news - no need to kill myself. It cost just £2.86 for i think it was 56 minutes! So very cheap - i'll pass it on to Lou ball and see if she wants to try it. I've also left a message with your dad on his phone (house phone) saying that it did only cost 5p a minute - so he may give you a bell this week! I can call on a weekly basis now. I'm not hard up for £2 and it saves me trying to think of everything to type - so i'll call you Monday after i've been to the Doctors, about the skin problem i was telling you about!!!!! With regards you. I think moving on is best - especially as there dosn't seem much going on other than work! You'll end up getting fed up if it's getting up your nose now. So keep me updated on how Darwin is before you zip off to Asia - P.S please be careful in asia i don't want some forign man buying you for £3 or something - you know what they are like in these forign countries they buy and sell in camels and you can't understand a word of what they are saying - so remember never nod your head to anything!!!!!! Back home, nothing exciting has happened since Monday. Linda rang last night - shes having a ding dong with the neighbours. They have apparently rang brian saying she was making loads of noise over the weekend. But i don't think it was her! I think it was next door - Enid was having a rave party!!! Only joking, other next door!! Louise has just been working. I've not spoken to Emma for weeks? Not sure were she has disappeared to???? And me - working as usual!!!! So nothing to report!!!! You take care. If having a lager - have one for me!!!! Speak to you next week. Deb xxxxxxxxx |
| 3rd August 2009 Deb Deb | Phone price! - From: Broome - Chilling Out Hi Jane, Just a quick one, with regards phone price. I've just checked to see how much it cost - but i'll have to look tommorow, because it's only showing up until last night! You must have to wait 24hours to see all call prices. But i will email tommorow when it shows. Hope thats OK! Fingers crossed on it costing more than £1000!!! Ha! HA! Deb xxx |
| 17th July 2009 Deb Deb | Cable Beach - From: Broome - Chilling Out Good day mate! Ha! Ha! I'm glad to hear your still missing us - the pictures look like your enjoying yourself too much too miss us all over here! Cable beach looks fab, so it looks like a great place to stay for a while whillst you save for your next trip. Really can't believe you've spent so much in just a few weeks though! I thought you had enough saved to last you several months? It looks like a trip to the Royal Bank of Dad may be in order soon! ha! ha! ha! I always use the Royal Bank of Barbara because it is 0% interest for the first 25 years!!!!!!! Your gang of friends really seems to be growing quite rapidly. Not sure if i should be worried! I can definetly see in all thier eyes that they don't have any of the Deborah Gannon qualities - but the Deborah Gannon qualities are so rare to come across - so that dosn't surprise me!!!!!! I would really like to see more animal pictures also if possible. I love a good animal - could i suggest some koola pictures? I've never seen a real live koola bear! With regards me - i've had 3 nervous breakdowns this fortnight and 5 mental breakdowns. I have had the most stressful two weeks of my life - i joke you not. Sue ryder (Wigan) seemed to fall apart at the seams, and we only had Laura the organisor of work. I've been in from early morning until 11pm covering all aspects of everything - care assistanting, training, organising rotas, care plan set ups and reviews - there has truly been nothing i have not fitted into a day - i'm grey!!!!!! Today is my first day off - so i've just washed my hair because i looked as if i needed a care package setting up to see to my own personal care needs!!!!! I've been meaning to ring your dad or tracy all week to pick some cigs up - but have not had 5 minutes to bob round, so if you speak to them you'll have to let them know i've not forgot - i've just been manic! With regards gossip - shit all to report. I personally have seen no-one. I have spoken to lou ball on the phone the over day - but she had nothing to report. So you'll be glad your not here - cause guess what? You'd be bored! Speaking of bored - how are the Sundays over there? I'm going to dry my hair now. I have a appointment at the bank at 3pm, but i look forward to the next catch up - keep me updated! And enjoy your new job. Any fit lads yet that have caught your eye? See you soon. Miss you loads!!! Deb xxxxxxxxx |
| 6th July 2009 paul johnson | Bitch - From: Up to Broome - Easyrider Tour Janey you bitch im well jell it looks fab - how good are your piccies! PJ x |
| 5th July 2009 Deb Deb | Just sent a message! - From: Up to Broome - Easyrider Tour HI Jane, I have just sent a message, but then my internet must of lost signal when i pressed send - so not sure if it went through or not? Basically it was just saying the pictures are great and carry on enjoying yourself! There was a bit about over here - but i'll not bore you with that again, incase the first message came through! Speak soon! Miss you! Deb xxxx |

| 30th June 2009 Loopy lou | Great memories - I want to go back to Ningaloo! - From: Up the West Coast!!! Looks like your having a wicked time - glad you got to see the Prince, how cool is he!! Thought you would love the snorkelling, I fell in love with it too on the West coast, less jellyfish than there is on the East! Am not seeing you drinking any 'Blonde' beer though yet, honestly give it a try - i loved the stuff, cheap, low in calories but strong! Keep up the good work gal, speak soon x x x x P.S how are the flies treating you, bought a cork hat yet? |
| 30th June 2009 Tracy | Hi there - NO CHARGER!!! - From: Leaving Perth - Touring the West Coast Oh forgot to mention we also went to Padstow, and I conned you dad into taking me to Port Issac where they were filming Doc Martin which I love...getting Old!!! Anyway you spoke with you dad this morning, and all is well. Got the camera but you have not sent the charger, hence no money back without loopy Jane... Will sort out your ebay. Msge from Linda: Everytime shes tries to access your blog it will not let her. So she asked me to let you and she will keep trying. Or maybe facebook her. Take care and where are your pics - wanna see the dolphins :-) Love Tracy Xxx |
| 30th June 2009 Deb Deb! | Thank God your alive! - From: Up the West Coast!!! Jane i have been worried because i have been checking my emails daily and no message to say you have blogged? Anyway this morning i thought i'll try on the off chance (off work today - hoorah!) and there was a blog. Thank God - i am imagined you on the tour bus from hell and kidnapped - yes always looking on the bright side of life!!! Anyway firstly. Lets remember that i just love pelicans. There is no such thing as a viscous pelican - you mustn't of been feeding it enough fish! Secondly did you get to stroke the koola's? They are just to cute for words - i would of have to put one in my bag and run away with it! ha! ha! Same would go for the baby joey! Gorgeous! By the way - still trying not to be jealous ha! ha! This blog really shows you having a fantastic time. I'm so glad! Keep up the good work and thanks for the fantastic piccies this time - i do love a good photograph and everything looks so beautiful. Really tempted to fly out and join you (do you think honor would mind much? ha!). You seem to have already seen so much, and only a couple of weeks into your trip! Just imagine what else you have in store - you'll not want to come home! Speaking of home - England - Yes crap! Your missing nothing at all! I've had a week from hell at work - all day every day (i'm knackered!). And we have had really hot weather (which i have missed through working), so been like a turkey in the oven trying to work in the car. Me and lou ball went watching Take that last Wednesday - Jane they was great! Really did put on a great show! Although put that into perspective - not as good as snorkelling and touring Austrailia. Anyway you carry on having a fantastic time and look after yourself! Be careful (and organised). I'll have to keep logging onto your blogs because the emails are not telling me when a new one arrives? Don't ask me why? Love you loads! Deb xxxxx P.S Hope you do get these messages? |
| 28th June 2009 anonymous | - From: Leaving Perth - Touring the West Coast Hello Jane, well it all seems to be working out well and you have slotted into the backpackers lifestyle good style, :-). Anyway we have just got back from Cornwall and Devon, your dad loved it so much........Met Lou, Matt, Kel, Martin (all kids too) at Hayle in Cornwall which was a brill campsite next to the white sandy beaches, your dad could not believe the beaches and the water was like the MED, Matt's had him out surfing..........we all went into St. Ives for the day and bought our wetsuits and boards, then the guys went home back to South Devon (I miss it so much) not before having a lovely meal in the village. I then took your dad on a tour of Cornwall, went to Lands End, St Micheals Mount, St Ives, Truro, Port Heath, Port Towen, St Agnus, Newquay and then another stop over in Watergate Bay, and the next night we stayed in Bude.............now it's bye bye Cornwall and HELLO North Devon...went to Saunton Sands and then to Croyde where we stayed for a few nights on 5 star holiday camp site right next to the beach and a beautiful thatched village. It is beautiful, nice and chilled we went cycling in the roasting heat and then body boarding for a few hours, I had my nice new TIKI wetsuit on but your dad didn't bother, he is saving it for more surf lessons with Matt as we are going back Thursday for a long weekend (hopefully). We are heading for a heatwave here and your dad and I are looking more native Aussie's than white british :-) Anyway take care and we'll be adding pics to facebook over the next day or so......... Had the best 40th birthday - huge bbq and party.......... HAPPY BIRTHDAY and hope you had a brill b/day. Do not wanna see before the 12 months is up......so better get a job so honey!!! Tracy xxx |
| 27th June 2009 Sally | Hello - From: Leaving Perth - Touring the West Coast Fun reading your entries, making me realise what I've missed, I told John I was doing the trip when Sam has grown up, so 10/15 years time or so, he said 'so your leaving me when your 60 then are you, just giving me some notice'! I said he could come as well. Remember where you were when Michael Jackson died, he was an icon for my generation wow. Monday looms and I will be turning down my fab job offer with a recycling company in Hudderfield but I would have to say by by to the chambers and the piling and the potential of setting up with my current boss at JFC who wants to set a business up with me 'Green Street Scene', maybe you could join us when you get back? No business on the chambers yet but 3 tenders coming up in the summer , so I'm taking the gamble that some of these will close! We've put such a lot of effort into them over the last 2 years, I just got to try. Finally put a piling web site up! www.masterpile.co.uk - should have done this years ago, anyway done now so fingers crossed. Sam and John at football practice this Saturady morning so it's very peaceful at home and I am sat in the lounge catching up and having a little chill. Horse riding sunday morning. Have a great time,Lots of loveSallyx |

I hope it works out well worth the money - should do and like you say you can bump it again by working when you get to Darwin. Don't work too hard though!!! I do hope you try the diving, so you can understand how fricken scary it is - i'm thinking if your next blog states it was great fun, the sharks, whales etc.. took your mind off the real issue of being deep underwater with a tank on yuor back. I look forward to your next update - your not missing anything here - so don't worry. As boring as boring can be. Talk soon! Love Deb xxx |

| 20th June 2009 Deb Deb | First Day Oz! - From: Goodbye SIngapore - Hello Australia!!!! Ha! Ha! Rain - i would say what a shame, but you will travel to the other side of the world to make us all jealous, by sunbathing daily on a beach. We have nothing to be jealous of!!!!!! Only joking. I'm thinking it can only rain so much - so the weather should brighten up for you any day soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed. The safari sounded great. I'm so glad it was a great experience that will last with you forever. And plenty more days/visits/trips like those ahead of you. What have the people in the hostel been like so far? Anyone you getting along with that you can spend the next few weeks exploring with? I've read you may change plans - so i hope that works out best for you. Anyway, i'm going shopping now for my fathers day stuff. You take care and i look forward to my next update with piccies next time. Love you and miss you! Deb xxxx |
| 20th June 2009 deb | your a explorer! - From: Day 2 in Singapore - Sentosa Island Jane's first day exploring what singapore has to offer - well done! Your a explorer now - i am very proud! I'm liking being able to keep up with what you are up to, but as i suspected already not organised - phone and camera as dead as a dead nail! typical! Going to post office to drop off weight! Sorry to hear you lost your friend - but there will be plenty of others! You may catch up with her in Darwin when you get there! Not sure if it is just me looking at the picture wrong - but the skyride looks like just ropes you all dangle off to get from a to b. i couldn't see any cabins? Is this a unusual way that singapores travel - dangling from ropes? Carrying on the good work of keeping us all updated. And more importantly enjoy yourself. Take care Deb x |
| 20th June 2009 Deb | So glad you have a friend!!! - From: I've Arrived!!! Jane - just to see a picture with a friend makes me feel so much better. I was worrying about you being on your own - and there was no need!!! I'm such a plonk!!!!! Firstly apologies for not covering the full cost of a singapore sling. You carry on having a brill time and i will keep updates. Look after yourself and watch what you are doing. Miss you loads. Deb xxxx |
