This was the first company outing I had here in China. The destination was Taihu Lake in Wuxi, China. At first, I was so excited to go to this place. I wanted to know what’s in there. But unlike other company outings this time I didn’t have problem sleeping at night before the outing. It was not exciting as I expected. The weather was bad, it was raining and you can’t see the scenery because of the fog. But despite the weather tourist keeps on coming. Jiangsu province is famous for its lakes. Craving for yogurt? This small thing in the supermarket caught my attention. I’ve always wanted to eat this in the Philippines but it is expensive. It fascinates me that here in China it’s very cheap. One cup of yogurt is 2 RMB (Renminbi) equivalent to 17 Pesos. The yogurt in the Philippines cost around 20-30 Pesos. I was so happy that I can eat this here everyday not worrying the price. It comes in different flavors (grapes, strawberry, blueberry etc.). Aside from the fact that it is cheap here, I also like the nutritional benefit of yogurt. It is not only a wonderful quick and easy snack that is available year-round, but yogurt may actually add years to your life. Yogurt contains live bacteria that provides a host benefits. Increased yogurt consumption enhance the immune response. ... read more

Chinese Wedding September 6, 2009 my husband and I attended John’s wedding party. We woke up so early because it will start at 9am. John rented one BMW car that took them to their new house and 6 Audi for relatives and friends. Here in China man should have a house before he marries. That morning the groom fetched the bride from their house. In a traditional wedding custom, the bride is just waiting inside her room. She wears a white gown (like the wedding dress that we see in the Philippines) but before the groom sees his wife he needs to pass the obstacle. Bride’s family will not permit the groom to enter the house. At the main door the groom’s family is begging the girl’s family to let them in. This looks like a ... read more
