The journey to Pokhara was in itself hair raising and if you have ever driven the Amalfi Coast Italy you will understand what I mean narrow roads sheer drops and very few barriers but I saw only one burnt out car at

Ok well my first week is almost over. Teaching is going well and the monks are great and we try and laugh as much as possible. This week I have only been teaching 2 classes so have finished at 12pm. I've then been going to meet Steve one of the other volunteers at Boudha Stupa where he is working. I have found myself a nice little cafe to frequent whilst I wait for him to finish work they're g

I knew I had to get a visa but thought that like Sri Lanka it was free so you can imagine how I felt when I arrived to find that I had to pay for it and there were no ATMs in the arrivals hall. Luckily I had 32 with me the visa was 30 that guardian angel mum and dad gave me really works because otherwi

Well I made it to the Taj Mahal and what a sight to behold. It truelly is an amazing building and more so because it represents one mans love for his wife. It's quite emotional really. It was a long day and I was supposed to be on an airconditioned bus but because I was travelling alone I was told to sit on the back seat where the ac doesn't reach hahahahaha. But after about 4 hours we arrive

Well here we are in Hampi and what an adventure it has been. We left by train from Bangalore Thursday evening and because noone said we had arrived we missed our station The train guard eventually asked where we were going as he knew we shouldn't have been there and we were politely put off at the next stop in the middle of nowhere and told to get a bus to Hospet where we should hav

Today was the last day at school for the children I have been teaching so you know what I'm like I found it very emotional. But to make the occasion very special I had had a saree made and I wore it. It took Sheeba about 30 mins to dress me in it but it was actually really comfortable and I could move about very easily. It was like wearing a bridemaids dress hahahaha. The children couldn't st

On Friday 6th we set off for Mysore which was a 4 hour bus ride away no mean feat I can tell you. We opted to slum it abit with a very cheap less than GBP1 non airconditioned bus so with the window open the whole way I was slightly intoxicated by the fumes by the time we arrived hahahaha. Still we did arrive and booked into a very cheap hotel cost GBP 4.50 each for 2 nights but it was cle

So we opted for Namastey London. Got into the cinema to find that the seats reclined how cool was that. I have never been in such a comfortable cinema and as for the film well that was great.
