Camping in Antarctica.....

So since my last entry I have been able to partake in a few fun days out on the snow. After doing the ice caves at the beginning of the one week I went to a class called snowcraft or Happy Camper. This is an overnight camping trip where you learn some basic snow survival skills. There are 20 of us that go out together with 2 instructors. We first set up some bigger tents to establish our area

Trip to the deep south....

Well I know this taken me a bit to write since I left Denver on the 4th of October and was stuck in Christ Church New Zealand until the 10th when I left for the ice. Here it is and I will try to make sure that there are more to come. The only problem is that we don't get a lot of internet time and are only able to upload one picture at a time because we don't have a lot of broadband to work with

So a little heads up to all this is a rather long entry but it was more than 3 weeks of my trip since my last blog. Just a note to warn you. So now that it has been quite awhile since my last entry I have quite a bit to write about to fill you all in. Last time I wrote we were staying at Felipe and Sylvanas house in Santiago and had gotten back from Portillo. We had to get some more skiing

Trip to Santiago and Portillo

We have finally made it to the mountains to do some skiing and snowboarding but the trip there was rather long and interesting. After surfing last week we had some down time the day after because we could not catch a bus until Thursday night when we had hoped to leave Thursday morning. That bus ride from Iquique was going to be rather interesting. It was a 26 hour bus ride straight through. W

Getting back from the trek to Machu Picchu last week allowed us to have a little bit of rest before we headed on to Puno and Lake Titicaca. After getting back from our trek we were getting ready for the fiesta Inti Raymi which as I said befo

The culture of peru

After the end of the last experience I was excited to get to Cusco which is a much larger city and the center for the Incas. When this town was first built it was in the shape of a puma because that was a symbol of belief for the Incas since there were many in the area. On top of the hill near town are the old ruins Sasqaywaman which is pronounced similar to sexy woman. There is only 20 percent
