John and Gloria headed off to Amed with some friends from Canggu for the weekend. Have been here before but we love coming back here, its a beautiful place to just chill out and kick back!!! Nothing like Seminyak Villas but if you want to combine chill out and relax with shopping then Seminyak/Amed is a nice combination. We headed off about 1.00p.m. Friday but having had no lunch turned off the main road into Pading Bai for lunch (a very late lunch), lovely restaurant right on the lovely white sandy beach and relaxed for an hour or so then back on the road to Amed. Meandering through the hills into Amlapura and then down again into the valleys before Amed, very scenic route. Well what a wonderful day it was 23.2.2013, Nengah and Juli's wedding day. We and all the Seminyak villas staff from Bali Yarravillas travelled up to Sideman today, in two shifts, to celebrate Nengah's wedding, it was quite a way 2 hours each way but through some absolutely gorgeous countryside, up and down hills, through rice terraces, palm, banana trees and rapidly flowing rivers, thank goodness it was a Saturday wedding and the traffic was a lot less. The wedding was so lovely, very traditional in a tiny village alongside the mountainside in Sideman in the area of Karangasem.
