Women in the U.S and around the world have always had lower power than men. this is true because many have discriminated the women role and how they are weak to do labor work. however, over the past centuries, women have proven that they could work like mena and they were able to stand for their beliefs. in today society, in some countries, women are still not given the human rights to be free. for example in the article "Women's Rights are Human Rights" women, specifically in Afghanistan, are discriminated and are being moved into refugee camps. the person, who wrote the article, writes, "the fact that women and girls often face gender-based discrimination that puts them at increased risk of poverty, violence, ill health and a poor education. Describe the adventures of your Spring Break (MINIMUM of 8 sentences) Q4 starts the day you return- what things are you most looking forward to in Q4? This will be your last opportunity to make an impression on the colleges you are about to attend- how do you want to end senior year academically? How do you plan on doing this? - I will like to say that my Spring Break was alright. I will like to say this because I went to the University of Michigan for about five days and four nights to visit my brother. I have to say the visit was quite fun because I haven't seen him for about 5 months so I got the chance to visit him, he showed me around the campus, and we got to eat a ... read more

A person I will like to make a shout out to is Reynaldo Castillo. I will like to make a shout out towards him because everytime someone or the whole class is confused, Rey is not scared to raise his hand and ask the appropriate question to clarify the unknown topic, He is also a hard working person. Another person I will like to make a shout out to is Pancho Barrera. I will like to make a shout out to him because we are always arguing and trying to come up with win win solution everytime we are debating about a topic. Also, he is accessible and a motivator if someone is having a problem with someone or feeling down. Therefore, I will like to give a shout to him.... read more

This I believe When I had first moved to our new house at the age of 8 on 47th and Indiana, I was a bit scared because I had always heard from the news that the new neighborhood I had moved in had a big crime rate. I told myself "is this really going to happen to me? Will I die?" Even walking to the train station from my new house was also scary because I was not comfortable of my new surrounding. For 6 years, I had begun to get myself comfortable to the new environment. But then one day, in the spring of my freshmen year in high school I experienced one of the most horrific scene in all of my life. I remember coming home from school on a Friday night. At the ... read more

1.) Based on the article, modern slavery consist of commercial sex trade, on farms, in homes, in factories and elsewhere in the United States. They work for little or no pay and under constant threat of violence and even starvation. In the old images there was just plantation, slave cabins and auction blocks, abuse, coercion and manipulation of the slaves. 2.) The article of sex trafficking connects to the legacy of President Lincoln because Lincoln made some of the most important decision during Civil War like the Emancipation Proclamation. This connects to it because he freed the slaves to fight for the Union and he tried to end slavery, but today modern shows that it is still going on and nothing is being done to stop sex trafficking. 3.) Polaris project is like the Underground Railroad ... read more

The Columbian Exchange and Triangle Trade affected the current day by providing different spices be mixed together and have the economy grow. A family recipe that includes tomato and chile is called " Pico De Gallo." 1.) My family someway identifies this recipe to be significant. They consider this recipe significant because it identifies the start of our family trend and where we came from. 3.) I think people should have access to a variety of food because it identifies the culture and it gives history to our mouths. In addition, it provides the knowledge of the culture and how it came about. 4.) I think food is an important ... read more

1.) Some books are being banned from school and libraries because some contain teen sexuality, racism, violence and the use of drugs. 2.) I do not agree with these reasons because the books are explaining something that everyone will have to face, and if they are not exposed to those types of things, then they won't know how to deal with it. 3.) I think that the schools should not ban book particularly in homosexuals, violence, and, teen sexuality. I think these are the most important topics because in the real world, everyone is exposed to it, and if the person or individual never encountered that and is exposed to it later in life, then they won't know how to react whether bad or good. 4.) By being aware of what's happening, and subscribe to print ... read more
