Amnesty International a global movement of people who are fighting and promoting equal human rights all around the world. It is the largest human rights organization that helps transform communities to becoming safer. It helps provide education, freedom, justice, and make the world a safer place. The article "Raped, Beaten, and Never Forgotten" is about 45 women who were arrested by the San Salvador Atenco police in 2004 for no apparent reason. In holding, the women were beaten and raped by the police. Many of the women had to serve time in jail for "blocking the public street." Years after their release from jail, 11 women came forward about their arrest. My adventures for Spring break were amazing. I was able to explore Rome in all levels. I learned history about Italy that I never knew before. I roamed the streets of the life of the people. I saw all types of buildings built thousand of years ago. I grew closer to friends because of the trip. I was able to create new memories in a new environment with people that are important to me. I saw things that many people aren't capable of seeing at my age. I was introduced to new foods, good and bad. In Quarter four, i am looking forward to prom and graduation. Women's progress (or not) around the world 1.This article is about how women have progressed with gaining their rights over the years. Compared to women hundreds of years ago, the 21st century offers women a lot more oppurtunities. For instance, 81% of women in the United States are paid men's salary in all fields. 86% of young girls worldwide are enrolled in primary schools. 1. Modern day slavery is different than old age slavery because there is no longer any ld images of plantations, slave cabins and auction blocks. 2. This connects to the legacy of President Lincoln because Lincoln was able to abolish slavery. So now where he use to stand, it is a way to further expand the message of the organization. 3. The organization provides a 24/7 hotline for people who assume their is traffcing in their communities or are victims of trafficing. I believe the message behind this organization is a great one, but it isnt doing a good job on making people aware of it. The Columbian Exchange affects the current day food and culture because the exchange introduced "trading" with other countries. Now a day, food is traded throughout the world. Cultures introduce thier own customs to different areas, so this allows people to trade. The triangle trade introduced slavery.This had a great impact on today's culture because many custom s have hanged. The treatment of Afrcian Americans has changed society. The customs the slaves brought into the U.S. allowed the people to trade items and knowledge amongst each other.
