Hi again fowks, this blogging thing has been running into all sorts of delays and hiccups, not sure where the blame lies. Could be me, not a lot of time with work and socializing and that, could be the computer….one thing all should know about China….nothing works…including our PC. We had a big ass system crash after having a shop in town fix a couple of things, so muggings here spent the better part of two weeks trying to install dodgy Chinese windows (you know what I mean) and then installing all those little bits of essential software. Then we ran into driver issues and couldn’t get online except at work (where the PCs are virus ridden). So my apologies to any who have been waiting and waiting. Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well. (this is Brigid by the way) Anyhow just quick note to say what we have been up to. We are teaching 5 days a week about 15hr to 18hr all different ages and levels. Teaching is fun and I am getting used to it. The school is ok but the investor can be a very tight pocketed. As a result the resources are not great and the Chinese staff get paid fuck all. This is a shame because everyone works hard but I suppose from what I have seen business in china is about making money with out a thought for the people involved. Hey folks, Been a little while huh? We’ve been sooooo busy at the school, we’ve had the summer school, which is just about to finish, yay!! Yeh, just in case you don’t know, B n B are in China now, we’re both teaching English to the best of our ability, but it can be a little tricky at times. The city we’re living in is called Guiyang; it’s in the South West, small city, not as developed as some in China. The reasons for coming here? The countryside surrounding the city is that kinda romantic, poetic, cloudy, hilly terrain that I’ve always pictured in my mind when I’ve thought about China.
