New Year’s Eve … our last full day in Paris. It was another cloudy day but we had planned our destination since our first day - visiting The Louvre Museum. Saving the best for last? Not quite. Everything about Lisbon and Paris has been a great experience. The museum first opened on August 10, 1793 with an exhibition of 537 paintings. The collection increased under Napoleon and continued to expand under Louis XVIII and Charles X. The Louvre Museum currently has more than 380,000 objects in a space of around 652,000 sq. ft.
