Greetings faithful travel blog readers! I hope everyone is doing well in what Ive heard is the rainy season in the northeast US. Up front aplogies for no punctuation, these crazy italian keyboards have a à where an apostrophe should be and a _ where the ? should be. At least the letters arent all mixed up like in France. So anyway, since our last entry we spent a lovely evening sitting on the rock beach in nice with some of our new hostel to hostel-fickle friends. Hello everyone! So we've been in Nice for a night and we like it! Our friends from school Connor and Caroline were here too and we tried unsuccesfully to find them the first night. In the morning we found them in the train station! They had a later train that day so we got to spend the day on the beach together enjoying the beautiful water and weather. :) Tomorrow we're heading out in the morning to Milan to stay with a friend of Avalon's family for a couple nights. Hello all! we just arrived in Barcelona after overnighting by train from Granada. The city was great. We took a free walking tour of the old region of the city called the albayzin. Its the region where the moors lived before being completely pushed out of spain, pretty cool! We also visited the palacios Nazries inside of Alhambra. It was very beautiful inside and you can see all of the different influences from the various occupants over time. our plan from here is to stay a night in Barcelona and leave early tomorrow for Nice. Ah, we seem to be back in madrid, just can´t keep away I suppose. Or there is just one train leaving lisbon ever. Interesting observation from laura and I, we have been away 5 nights and slept in beds for two of them. We seem to be getting good at overnight trains, very comfortable and quiet. Also we are fluent in portugese, and now have to switch back to spanish. Today we successfully asked where an internet cafe was to a bench of old ladies. Hello everyone! Iºm writing this entry as we´re checking out of our hostel in lisbon. we arrived here yesterday night on the overnight train from madrid and hit the ground running. we checked into our hostel and explored the area for the whole day. the best sight was from the top of the castle where you could see some pretty awesome views of the whole city. we had some pretty traditional português food for lunch and indian food for dinner. they all were really good! today we might go to the beach and then weºre headed back to madrid on the [View Full Entry]

Hello again everyone! So last night Av and I walked about Madrid some more with a few other people staying at our hostel. Today the big plan is to do a free walking tour of Madrid then head to a "tapas experience" where they take you to four different tapas bars and try a different dish at each one! We booked an overnight train to Lisbon leaving at 10pm this evening. So.... laura and avalon checked themselves through multiple customs and stayed awake their entire red eye flight preparing themselves for the trip through europe by watching Taken and Marley & Me. Tried to sleep on the second flight but failed. Now it is about 6am normal time but it´s lunchtime for spanish people so obviously we must fight the urge to sleep to refuel. Checked into our first hostel, found it all by ourselves after expertly navigating the metro. Already seasoned travelers.
