full sentences
At some point upon your return I would recommend practicing using full sentences again. Those who speak english appreciate the rest of the sentence :) As always enjoying reading about your adventures and thinking secretly I'm glad they're happening to you/

AMAZING STUFF Avalon!!! Happy New Year to you =) I'm sorry for all the "bad days" sucks that you keep getting your bike stolen, but I hope that's your biggest problem there. The food looks amazing, I'd be concerned for the sodium intake though!! I went to the hot pot, "littleQ" it opened by us in Archstone (we have to got here when u come visit unless ur sick of asian food by now) and i felt as if i got enough sodium to last me for a year. haha I'm so jealous that you got to spend the day with an elephant, and the massage must have been amazing. I def wanna go to Thailand one day =) Glad to see your enjoying your time and hope you have a nice visit from the parents =)!! miss ya lots!

Great blog!
My daughter Lisa is teaching English in Shenzhen since September 2010. Your stories and pictures really help me understand the world she is living in! Your posts are very entertaining - keep them coming!

OMG...
Glad to read you tried dog! I wanted to while in Thailand. BUT seeing a paw in the dish would have been difficult. Wow...paw. I think I'd also draw the line on that one (after a couple bites). Love reading your blog, Anthony in California

halloween/thanksgiving
avalon! i loved reading your update this morning! the translation of your christmas day is pretty hilarious... basically that's how my christmas' go as well minus the man eating. i hope that thanksgiving and christmas in china are fun! your kids are sooo adorable esp in their little halloween costumes! i only had like 2 trick or treaters come to my house which was terrible except that i got 2 bags of excellent halloween candy all to myself. ps... i got accepted to NOVA!!!!!! maybe i'll be there with you in a few months! i applied to 19 schools and NOVA's the only one i've heard from so far which means i still have 18 more to eliminate before i can definitely say that i'm going to NOVA but i'm paying my seat holding bank busting deposit this week! happy thanksgiving!!! <333

I suppose it would be foolish to ask whether you wear a bike helmet....or even why you choose to learn to read mountain goat, as opposed to, say, toilet or emergency exit, or even free food.

Amazingly brave adventurer
Your mum sent me the link to your blog and I've spent ages reading all of it. What an incredible experience: well done! Nash thinks that mould, the toilet and the dead dog are eeeuewww disgusting but would like to see closeups. Also quite confused because you aren't either of the girls we went camping with. Tr the lights off and the quiet voice before you shout yourself hoarse. Three-year-olds are monsters.

i owe you an e-mail but for now...
sounds like an awesome time, had i known it was this easy to comment, i would've on your previous ones. this tickled me quite a bit, "Finally paddled my own bamboo raft around a pond while chinese people took pictures of me." i think you should get a couple of friends who like to wear suits and sunglasses, have them walk around you and say "no pictures please" in chinese and see what kind of celebrity the chinese think you are.
