WooHoo! I made it through terminal 5 at Heathrow airport! All bags showed up just fine. As I had only 7 hours (later close to 10 due to the flight being delayed) in London before flying to Brussels for a work meeting I stowed my carrying on at the Left Luggage, and trudged home with two big bags filled with clothes, new shoes and a Swifter Sweeper. Had lunch with a co-worker then headed back to Heathrow Airport. I was quite impressed how much more comfortable I am in London after a bit of time away. Granted, this shouldn’t have been [View Full Entry]

Having a bit of difficulty getting the photos up and viewable. So this is a test entry. And it failed miserably! Drats, I think it is my computer, which has been threating to die for months now. sigh. Well please forgive me for all the "white" pictures in my last blog. I've deleted all the "white" pics from this one. Grr. [View Full Entry]

Often I get distracted and just wander. Whether for a few minutes in thought or for a few weeks in actions. Here's a bit of some places I've been since I last entered a blog. Having a few problems with the photos. Hope to get that solved another night. [View Full Entry]

After a day at THE (as I've been told) Boat Race a day at the garden was in order. So I headed off to Richmond Surrey to the Kew Gardens. Henry Moore's giant outdoor sculptures were on display. It was their last day at the Kew. It is a huge garden with lots of open space, old buildings, and children stomping on all the flowers. This is a must see if you are into gardens. They have a shuttle service, several food courts, and a kids playground in case they still have energy. The ground was pretty mucky, and many women [View Full Entry]

**I have a video that I will be attempting to edit and uploading tomorrow.** How can one be within a 100 kilometers of London this time of year and NOT attend the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race? So I checked the weather, partially sunny, 13C, slight breeze. Then I doubled checked the weather and looked out the window. Sunny, wind gusting and big brewing black/grey clouds. I noticed that today's weather forecast was updated by the time I got home and began to get the feeling back in my fingers and toes. This, after I heeded the visual assesment, by wearing [View Full Entry]

I hitched a ride with work's web team to Oxford to check out this farm. Caution! This farm is not your average farm, this is the exception, not the rule. Someday I will post the rule so you can see the difference and judge for yourself. This farm is a working educational farm associated with Oxford University, McDonald's and Tescos (a large supermarket in the UK). They are organic and critter friendly. As an educational farm they work to make a profit, but are currently not making money. A primary reason for this is much of the things they need (corn, [View Full Entry]

Regardless of my planning, and adding or dropping ohh and ahhing like museums or listening to street musicians, I do find myself with time on my hands; Too early to arrive, yet too late to explore a different street where Jack-the-Ripper may have wandered. This being winter in London means passing time is best done in a sheltered manner. I tend to forget to tote a book around, yet my camera is usually with me, and when bored or feeling uncomfortable I take out the camera check settings, take a few pictures, review the photos, change settings, and take some more [View Full Entry]
