Cassia

One night as I was lying in bed fast asleep I had a dream I was walking on a beautiful
Beach when all of a sudden I was awoken by a pinching feeling.
'pinch me, I must be dreaming.' yeah, well, yeah! I was dreaming but i never asked anyone to pinch me!
I realized there was no one else in the room and all I could see was the dark shadows of my furniture and the outline of the trees outside my window.
'Squeak!'
I looked down beside my bed where I then noticed this lady bug about the size of a golf ball. I swear, it walked straight out of an Asian cartoon. It stood there a moment looking into my eyes and then swiftly turned and ran away. It was the strangest thin, when it turned, I noticed the word 'travel' on it's little bum.

It was then I realized, I had been bitten by the travel bug. Ever since then i had waited for years for the oppertunity to travel anywhere. And like they say, 'go big or go home' well, I've been home long enough, so I'm traveling the world.

Europe July 13th 2011

It's weird reading your own blog. Revisiting past adventures and feelings you've forgotten about. I keep thinking that I should write more about Europe because I hardly wrote about my first month so here goes. I ended off in tarragona. I then spent one night in Barcelona which was me chilling in my hostel just being bored an lazy, skyping people, doing some research, you know. The guy working had some great music playing so that was a bonus. The next day I decided I would go to Nice, France. This was my first spontaneous destination. it's funny because as my friends and I discove over and over again, spontaneousness leaves no space for disappontment. That being said, I absolutely lived it there! I wasn't exactly sure why but there was a great atmosphere a liveliness. ... read more

I dont know if its even relevant to compare Thailand to Europe especially this soon in but at least I could compare Bangkok to Europe. WELL, no, I can't. its a completely different story. So far, I have great respect for anyone who travels thailand or maybe I was just unprepared. =S I like it tho, Bangkok is a big challenge. That being said, I can't wait to get out! ^^ hahaha. I've been chillin' in my hostel, which is REALLY REALLY nice by the way. If you're ever in Bangkok, i recommend the Saphai Pae Backpackers Hostel. Theres a sweet movie room with a bunch of super comfy couches. Downstairs has a really great restaurant and in the other direction there is a wall of computers which you can use for free. Lucky it is ... read more

So, because my trip is so long, before I left I did do quite a bit of researching about general activities and locations i wanted to visit on my travels and I purposely decided to leave the future somewhat unwritten. In europe it proved to be quite awesome nearing the end when i made some spontaeous discisions to go to Prague and also Dresden. With thailand things are a little different so far. I again only booked my first hostel and yesterday I was TOTALLY stuck trying to figure out where to go. I guess the thing is that there's not enough hostels or a run out of ideas, the problem, if you can really call it that, is there is SOOO MUCH I want to do here that I canNOT decide what's happening first!! My ... read more

so guys, I'm in THAILAND! its interesting because i find for a lot of hard-core-like travelers say that this is a must-go location. W'ell I've been here for 2 days now. I'm not sure the first day even really counted because i was jet lagged, man was i jet lagged. Yesterday, I ended up leaving my hostel in london at 545am and arrived at the next hostel in Bangkok at 930am. If you consider that there was 25 hours in between with no more than an hour of sleep, I was done. If you also consider that that night i went to bed at 2 am, I was also quite spent today. haha. Around 2pm yesterday, I did end up going to the weekend market yesterday with an english friend i made at my hostel and ... read more

What generally happens when I write a blog post is I type it all out on my notepad on my iPod/iPhone depending on the timeline I wrote and then j post it a while later cause I'll probably be on a train with no internet connection. This time it's a little different. I'm sitting at mcdonalds and there is Internet so this is me, right now with some of my thoughts and feelings and a situation I'm still in. It's different for me because I usually keep things in my life distant. If I tell someone about something, chances are I've already gotten past it emotionally so it's easier to tal about things.  Well, I'm in Prague, and you know. I've been traveling for about a month and 20 days so a month and 2/3rds. I'm ... read more

Europe June 25th 2011

Soooooo, my last post was pep-talk, emotional, sentimental stuff so I think it's time for some stories. Let's see, where did I end last? Madrid. Okay, so I left Madrid and I went to go meet up with a best friend of mine who was also traveling Europe at the time. Her name's victoria and she was also my roomie! Hence part of the reason why were both traveling, cause she moved out, I had no where to go so I decided to become a global citizen/trekker.... Yeahh. So I was told that Her and her family would be right outside of Barcelona. So, I train in with basically no idea where I was going. All I has was an address. I was a little stressed and finally becoming functional again by this point and I ... read more

Europe June 24th 2011

haven't written in quite a while. I guess that's due to a lot of factors. First of all, I made some amazing friends an basically spent every second of the day with them leaving no time to write. Second, my iPhone had been stolen from me in Rome and I was jut not in the mood. So since then, a lot has happened. Some big ups and some big downs but that's how it works. If I didn't want any sad or lonely times then I wouldn't have made friends. Once we split I realized what I had and that I had lost something important. Right now in at another one of those transition points which puts me into another quite sentimental mindset. I had cone to realize over the past few days quite a ... read more

~Madrid. The entirety of my experience of Madrid was was chilling around town, checking the cool sights, having some alone time, and then a slow intro into a small culture shock. For the first time I realized that I didn't really speak Spanish. Hahaha. I didn't mind much in fact I enjoyed the challenge. I really want to learn Spanish now. I ended up at one point chilling at this place called Plaza Del Sol right in the middle of town. Two guys ended up talking to me a while, were like, let's go for a drink! Well, don't think I'm a horrible person but I stayed and talked for a while, I had an orange fanta then I left an was like, hostel time! Haha, you might say I used them, I say, they offered ... read more

Europe May 31st 2011

What do you define as awesome? I once defined awesome as: I bought a eurail pass, unlimited for 2 months. That's almost $1200CAD and where do I start my trip? London. Where is my pass valid for? Like everywhere minus London... So I'm trying to get to Paris right, and the cheapest way out was to train for £178........ so, in Canadian dollars, that's like, Kay, almost $300. HA! well, I'm not going there yet then!! Instead I found the cheapest ticket to somewhere for £40.... For July 18th.... Yeah, I'll be in Thailand on July 18th. I call Ryanair to change the flight dates which means another £56. okay! Well, it's still cheaper than Paris. For some reason Ryanair is the cheapest airlines on the planet. No, not in a good way. In the way ... read more

Haha, I was reading through my journal looking for things to pull out for my blog as im on a train from Cinque Terre back to my hostel in Pisa and I came across this: "I don't really like those really, you know, girly girly girly girls all that much. haha, you know the ones, "I really badly need to straighten my hair. Uh, oh my gosh today, I straightened my hair and then saw this really cute boy..." need I say more? I much prefer to be in the hostel with guys. I feel they kinda leave you alone more, they don't talk alot & yeah, they smell good." HAHAHhahahha. Yes, sometimes they do smell good. Wow. What a great entry self! Then there's one about, well, here: May 11th "Last night I got back ... read more
