He is Mike :) - From: Gallipoli, Troy, and Lounging in Cannakale
He is one of the famous comedians of Turkey; Cem Yilmaz. He was acted as in the role of Michael Knight of "Knight Rider" :) He has an old car named as KITT in the advertisement. The hairs are similar, hah :-)

We're still bummed that we missed seeing you in Dublin after Christmas last year, but understand. One of these days, they've got to start a cheap non-stop flight between Boise and Phoenix!

Hilarious photos of the "WC" sign and Roger enjoying it the old fashioned way. So did you have to pay for the "atmosphere" on the old school style WC?

It's Roger's Long Lost Brothers! - From: Gallipoli, Troy, and Lounging in Cannakale
Roger: Judging from your "hairy" look in the photos, I'm thinking the guys on the gas station sign might be your long lost furry brothers! Interesting information on Turkey, a country I've never been inclined to visit because I've got so many above it on the "must see" list. Thanks for sharing!

Safe Travels... a wish from Kuwait - From: Venice
I have been enjoying your blog from the beginning (found it in Google as I am planning a bangkok/malaysia/singapore trip with my family this summer). Cudnt stop reading your fantastically detailed travelogue and thoroughly enjoyed my armchair travel with you. I hope you find time coz I see a big backlog you have to churn out. Good luck and safe travelling.

Re: Is Alice Springs a sacred place? - From: Alice Springs, Uluru, And Krusty-With-a-K
We are probably not in a good position to say definitively whether Alice Springs is sacred. The town is pleasant enough to visit. There is a very visible population of Aboriginies and, in our experience, the spiritual nature of the Aboriginal connection to the land may be such that the land in or around Alice Springs could be sacred. Uluru and Kata Tjuta certainly have a sacred history and a spiritual feel to them.

Love the blog... - From: Venice
Hi Amy, I don't know if you remember me from the Trust but I absolutely love your blog and read it faithfully. If you have time, would you write a quick itinerary of your trip so far - just a list of where you've been and on what dates? I'm trying to talk my husband into a similar trip! Be safe and keep up the fascinating entries.

Pigeons (aka rats with wings) are horrible creatures and I totally understand that a square filled with them would be your version of hell... WHO would let a pigeon perch on them?! That said, I am thrilled y'all ended up liking Venice... :^)

To protect my adopted home state of Arizona, I do see that what you're referring to as a "Colorado Cheeseburger" actually says "Arizona Dream" on the side of the box. So which is it, Mr. Brown? You guys will have to come for a real burger at In-N-Out in Phoenix one of these days!

We will miss you - From: Our Day at Steve Irwin's Zoo (July 16, 2006)
My daughter and I will miss you so much Steve. Because of you she would like to be a conservationist when she grows up. We have watched you on television for years and feel as if we know you as many of millions of people have throughout the years. We have seen your life change, your family grow and learned so much about the animals and habitats you have protected. We are deeply greaved by your loss and pray for your family daily. May God continue to bless your family and we pray you are happy with your home in heaven, but the world will continue to feel your loss and I hope we can pick up where you have left off and leave the world and it's people a better place when we are called up yonder. Love Kim and Emily

Hello Again - From: Bosnia at Thanksgiving
I have been catching up on your travels and had missed a few entries over the past few months. Just spent the last 2 hours getting updated. Once you start reading the entries, you can't stop. Your writing is excellent and I plan on finishing my required reading of your blog tomorrow. I was particularly interested in the motorcycle trip around Vietnam. It is very interesting that you are the first Westerners that many of the people have seen. As for the food, I don't know if I could consume many of the items that you two have been eating. I probably would come back after a year at least 50 pounds lighter. Hope you had an excellent Thanksgiving and I am sorry to hear about Roger's health problems. Roger, hope you are feeling ok. Hang in there and keep posting the blog entries so I can continue my virtual tour of the world with you two. Again, I want to stress that your level of detail about your trip is remarkable. I can't remember my last meal, yet you two seem to have kept copious notes about each event in your travels. Good stuff. Hope to see you in DC.

Sydney! - From: Sydney, New South Wales
I currently am enraptured with "Finding Nemo," which features Sydney, and an episode of "The Wiggles" where they sail around Sydney Harbor. Plus, I guess, I have a kid sister named Sydney. But she isnt too much fun and mom always makes me be nice to her and she smells funny. But anyway, I like Sydney the City, so thanks for this.

Roger & Amy! I would say greetings from Wisconsin - but i am in California at the moment... First of all - Congrats - what an amazing adventure you two are off on! Clint just sent me the link to the travelblog - and i have enjoyed reading a scattered few enteries. I can't tell you how jealous i am... Rog - you would be psyched to know I was at Lambeau Field last week when Favre took his first ever Lambeau Leap, but alas, i only watched it on TV like the rest of the country as i was in line for Bratwursts! :) I'm glad to hear your travels are exciting as i had hoped they would be. and i am excited to be in the loop now - while i can't promise to post a comment too frequently, i am excited to keep an eye on the blog... Larry Brown - if you read this - HELLO! I will write soon - it has been too long - i hope all is well. :) Ciao -Kristin

Welcome back. While in Shanghai, make it a point to go skyscraper bar hopping during the day.... pick any skyscraper and go to the top for awesome views and airconditioning. Also, to splurge, go to the Jin Mao Tower in Pudong, go to the 87th floor to Cloud 9 in the Grand Hyatt to enjoy a spectacular view of the Bund/City and a Singapore Sling. Miss you. Eloy

Monkey Mahem - From: Halong Bay (May 26 - 28, 2006)
Roger, your experiences with monkeys reminds me of a similar experience I had with the Barbary Apes of Gibraltar. Only there the guides actually amuse themselves by getting you to place these wild beasts on your shoulders while you feed them candy so you can get a picture to record your stupidity for posterity.
