For this reason I have changed the medicine dosage times for Mia because 230 ampm was not working. My mother has obviously forgotten the inthemiddleofthenight feedings and the necessity of waiting a few hours to give her that first dosage in order to get all the other times on a reasonable schedule. The first time that I tried to wa http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Tlaxcala/Tlaxcala/blog-443878.html Traveling from the Distrito Federal to Tlaxcala It is nigh impossible to exchange your US dollars for Mexican pesos in a bank. If I had known that I would waste almost a complete day trying to turn my money into the local currency I would have deposited it into my checking account in order to just pull it out of an ATM and presto pesos Azul and I didn't end up getting out of bed until 11am 9am our internal clocks. Azul and I slept in the c http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Tlaxcala/San-Antonio/Acuamanala/blog-443549.html First Day in Mexico The flight from Portlad to Houston was relatively uneventful. Mia behaved as well as can be expected for an almost two year old at midnight. Thankfully we had a young couple seated next to us and not some uptight senior citizen to chastize me on manners and children these days. Continental now offers DirecTV during your flight for a mere 6. I tried to sleep as best I could but it wasn't pretty an http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Estado-de-Mexico/Distrito-Federal/Atizapan-de-Zaragoza/blog-442221.html From Snow to Sunshine This trip is already starting off on a crazy note. My plan had been to work the majority of my shift and just leave a couple hours early to give me time to drive the 130 miles to the airport and catch our flight. Instead we awoke to 34 inches of fresh snow covering the car and roads. Jose helped me load the suitcases and everything into the car so that I could leave straight from work and he wou http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Oregon/Bend/blog-442156.html An Exhaustive Day of Shopping at Pier 39 We got off to a rocky start this morning after I hit the snooze again and we missed our wakeup time by a couple hours. Thankfully someone called and that woke me up. Erika was a little turd this morning so we didn't actually roll out of here until after 10 am but hey we're on vacation right The current toll to cross the Golden Gate bridge now is 6 if you're headed southbound into San Francisco http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/San-Francisco/blog-376659.html Bend OR to Windsor CA Day 1 With this fabulous new schedule that I have we decided to take advantage of the very first 4 day weekend to make a quick trip down to Cali and get out of town. The alarm went off at 7am and I hit the snooze button without thinking so we were a little slow getting out the door. By 9am the Escape was loaded up and we were on the road. It was pouring down rain as we headed south but I had hopes that http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Windsor/blog-376326.html Day 6 Autln Chimulco and Guadalajara Carmen was up bright and early this morning getting the boys up dressed and off to school. I tried to sleep in as long as I could but that is a difficult feat with both girls in bed with me. Then Mia had one of her overflowing diaper episodes and that did it I was up and stripping the bed in a flash The boys didn't get out of school until 1230pm so Carmen took all of us around the town for so http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Jalisco/blog-257721.html Day 5 Relaxing in Autln with Carmen First order of the day was food for us. We decided that it would probably be easiest to grab some snacks on the road since we were getting a fairly late start. Sorry but I don't handle time zone changes as easily as I used to. Our first stop was to fill up the tank and Fernando bought me a bag of caa for only 10 pesos. It had the hard outer shellbark peeled off and it was cut up into 1 inch chun http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Jalisco/Autlan-de-Navarro/blog-257560.html Day 4 A Rocky Start in Guadalajara It was a very long night as we waited to board our flight in Tijuana. The plane was scheduled to depart at 1255AM. The gate or sala as it is called there was starting to get crowded as we continued to wait the several hours. As the time got closer they made some announcement that I could not understand and everyone started to line up. I had thought that we would board based on groups or seatin http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Jalisco/Guadalajara/Colonia-Rinconada-San-Francisco/blog-257531.html Day 3 Coalinga CA to Tijuana Mexico I hate Mexican airports But don't let me get ahead of myself quite yet I still have the whole adventure of my day to share with you lovely folks. I figured out what I forgot in my packing....the power cable for my laptop That one wins the prize when your plan is to blog your journey for everyone back home. So folks that's why I'm home now and trying to go back and blog each day and post th http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Mexico/Baja-California/Tijuana/blog-257063.html Day 2 Weed to Coalinga California After getting absolutely no sleep last night in the car we were up and driving again by 6am. For those that know me well the only time I usually see 6am is when Jose is waking up and going to work and then I fall right back asleep. I had to get the kids situated into their car seats again and then we were off. I had to keep stopping for bathroom breaks. It seems that everytime I stop to go potty http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/blog-256772.html Day 1 Bend Oregon to Weed California Like all of my good intentions I had hoped to leave town at a decent hour but I decided to slow down and try to not forget anything. We woke up early and ran around trying to finish up all the last minute errands and tie up loose ends. It's weird to be leaving your home for a couple weeks and wondering what might happen in the meantime. Around 2pm we headed out to Redmond so I could pick up my pa http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/California/Weed/blog-256723.html Preparing for the Road Trip to Mexico My restless feet have been twitching fiercely since the return from Ireland in 2006. The coming of Mia Azul postponed any 2007 travel plans but we're all three armed with passports now and once again ready to travel. Our current adventure is a road trip to Mexico. I will be traveling with 5 year old Erika and 4 month old Mia. Our journey will cover approximately three weeks with travel time and va http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Oregon/Bend/blog-248865.html A Final Farewell We awoke to overcast skies and rain this morning so we decided to stay home and relax. Our suitcases are almost packed and we'll be leaving for the Shannon airport very early in the morning. We did some last minute shopping in Killarney today and burned the proverbial plastic. This will be our final blog for this vacation but stay tuned for upcoming adventures. You know we hate to stay put for ver http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Kerry/Cromane/blog-101902.html Bunratty Castle and Medieval Dinner Spending yesterday at home and relaxing was just the cure that I needed for my road weary bones. Even though we stayed up late last night watching this movie called ldquoBuying the Cowrdquo we were still up at a decent hour and out of the house. We drove to Killarney first so I could catch up on posting my blogs and reading emails etc. The auto parts store was the first stop so I could order http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Clare/Bunratty/blog-101891.html Exploring Glenbeigh I have decided that too much vacation can be a bad thing. I have grown weary of traveling all over to see things. The only things that we had still wanted to see are the pricier items and I canrsquot justify it yet. The Aran Islands require a ferry passage to reach them and the Bunratty Castle and Folk Park offers the medieval dinner and musical entertainment but that alone runs about euro60 f http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Kerry/Glenbeigh/blog-101569.html More Exploring in Killarney Up and out of bed around 10am for another relaxing day. I didnrsquot get much sleep last night thinking about Kara being in labor and having my first nephew without me. We donrsquot get any cell phone coverage here at the house so there is no way of checking in on them. We headed to Killarney this morning with plans to see the Ross Castle and hit a couple geocaches.I called Autum as soon as I http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Kerry/Killarney/blog-101567.html A Day of Relaxation and Recovery We stayed up pretty late last night watching television. Since Ireland falls within the European Union most of the shows come from England and Scotland. We watched their version of ldquoAmerican Idolrdquo except itrsquos called ldquoThe X Factorrdquo and the rules are a little different. We watched a couple movies while the laundry was finishing up and then we went to sleep around 2am o http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Kerry/Gap-of-Dunloe/blog-100775.html Geocaching Dublin Well our missing roommate showed up at some point in the night but I didnrsquot want to appear awake so I didnrsquot look at my cell phone. One thing is for certain it was no female lol. He came stumbling in quite drunk and muttering something. I guessed him to be young and well traveled because he blurted out ldquofuckrdquo in very good English and something about ldquogravity worksr http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Dublin/Dublin/blog-100545.html Exploring Dublin The alarm on my phone went off at 630am so I could downstairs and put coins in the meter. We parked on the street overnight so as to avoid paying the euro6 parking garage fee. The meters on our street cost about euro2.70 an hour so either way itrsquos ridiculous. It is free between the hours of 7pm and 7am and I get to park in the street right out front. I didnrsquot even bother with a sh http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Dublin/Dublin/blog-100222.html
