Vienna- Went to see the Spanish Riding Horses, which was amazing. They dance, skip and do the most amazing jumps. I never knew that they are born grey and then when they grow up they turn white... learn something new! Went to St Stephan's and the catacombs, which was amazing- was scared to breathe in the room which housed all the bones of those that died from the Black Plague- ew! But otherwise amazing. Went to the Prater amusement park- which housed the oldest Ferris Wheel. I went on the most craziest ride there- we nicknamed it the "Spew-enhoffen" It was [View Full Entry]

Pisa.
Yes, its cheesy and tacky... but who cares, it was fun. :P
Ciao! Been having a great time in Italy... Stayed in Florence which is a lovely city- but didn't spend enough time there to really appreciate it. Saw the replica of the Statue of David, amongst other stunning statues. Hopefully will get the chance to return there when I go back to Italy (can't remember if I do or not- oops!) Went to Rome and fell in love with the ruins. Simply amazing. Ate lunch next to the Colloseum, which was really mind blowing (average food, but it's not everyday you are eating next to such an amazing structure.) Went to the [View Full Entry]

Dover.
It was VERY windy. The White Cliff looked amazing, so ignore my silly self.
Its been a crazy few days! Been traveling on this Topdeck tour since the 13th and have seen far too much, but its been great fun thus far. Left for the tour on the 13th- left London for Paris, via the ferry at Dover. Saw the White Cliffs- which were quite pretty. It was quite a choppy ride. Got to Paris and did a night lights tour- Paris is just so beautiful. The architecture is simply stunning. The following day we toured Paris- climbed the Eiffel Tower (my fear of heights was in full swing, especially on the lifts, but it [View Full Entry]

On the boat to Greenwich.
Caught a boat to Greenwich today, where we had a lovely picnic and stroll around. Kydi and I went to the deli to buy stuff for the picnic- was loving the cheese section, so many cheeses to choose from. We got a Pepper brie and a Roquefort blue- YUM! Also got a prune wheel (prunes and walnut, which went very well with the blue cheese), and some antipasta goods- marinated artichoke, eggplant, semi-dried tomatoes, stuffed green olives, ham, hummus dip, kalamata olive paste, dolmades, baguettes and some Rose wine. Had the picnic in the park in Greenwich in the sunshine. Then [View Full Entry]

Look kids... Big Ben.
View of London from the boat.
Picnic- YUM!

Went to the Tower of London, and was amazed that such an old structure sat within a bustling city (I guess I better get used to it!) Went on a tour with a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) which was quite interesting, but I got a bit bamboozled with all the history and the different Kings and Queens. Took some "illegal" pics within the chapel and got in trouble by a Beefeater- once again, I didn't pay attention to simple instructions... whoops! Saw the Crown Jewels- the opulence was fascinating. Being the nerdy nurse that I am, I had to pay a visit [View Full Entry]

Ohhh... it must have been hot in that hat!

Went to the Red Lion for Glen's birthday. Was lovely, however jetlag started to kick in... :( And I note that I had to drink JD as there was no bourbon- Kezz, will you still love me? Day 2- Had an easy day today, as I am still suffering from jetlag and have a nasty blister on my right foot. So I thought I'd go to the Tate Modern as it wouldn't involve too much walking... but then I stupidly walked to see Tower Bridge. Also saw HMS Belfast, Shakespeare's Globe, Millennium Bridge and Southwark Cathedral. Spent a short time at [View Full Entry]

Tower Bridge... and me.
London Bridge

Went for a random walk around London. Saw Trafalgar Square, Big Ben at the Houses of Parliment, Westminster Bridge, Country Hall, The London Eye, Golden Jubilee Bridge, Green Park, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park. The weather is lovely, around low-mid 20Cs, sunny. In my travels I got hit by a taxi, thankfully I wasn't hurt, but my pride was bruised! The damn taxi didn't indicate and then accelarated towards me... the tyre brushed my heel. So I have learnt that English drivers are not polite (I thought they had a repution for being polite, but this is obviously debunked) and I am [View Full Entry]

River Thames.

Left Melbourne on Monday night, 5th May. Was disappointed that I didn't get a window seat, but was happy to have been upgraded to the new Premium Economy- wider seats, more leg room and better service. The trip to Hong Kong was quite uneventful- watched Todd Sweeny, which I thought had far too much singing in it! I had a few hours sleep. Arrive at Hong Kong airport- first thought was "humid". Then I got lost, because I didn't pay attention to simle instructions. Managed to arrive for boarding just in the nick of time. lol The flight to Heathrow was [View Full Entry]
